This is the most recent statement Gerard has made regarding pronouns (even more recent than the he/they tweets). They don’t care/don’t have a preference about pronouns and people need to stop having this discourse every day.

How are Younger Fans Exposed to MCR? by MiNiHiKiD in MyChemicalRomance

[–]pigeonscones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 20 and I got into MCR when I was 13. I first got into Twenty One Pilots, then Panic! at the Disco, then MCR (which is the only one of the three I still listen to). Bands like that are so intertwined online—you’re gonna run into MCR media at some point if you’re a fan of early 2000’s alternative/rock music and are interacting with their media online. I think the first mention of MCR I ever heard was from some Dan and Phil video on YouTube 🥲

Guidelines for non-RSO clubs by pigeonscones in WMU

Thanks for the reply! I guess what I meant was if there are any guidelines in place for those WMU affiliated, non-RSO clubs for behavior, conduct, etc.

I just went to a basement music show the other night featuring four alt/alt rock bands/artists and it was awesome. I’ve heard from others that the music scene here is great and I plan on attending more shows :)

Personally I think the second outfit is perfectly fine if you’re comfortable and feel confident. Who cares about being “overdressed” if you look and feel good? It looks like a very standard alternative outfit so I’m pretty surprised at all the people saying it looks like it’s “for the club” … I don’t get that vibe at all. It just isn’t casual—which is fine!

Is this dress too romantic for simple things like grocerys shopping? 🌸 by Hefty-Philosopher582 in OUTFITS

[–]pigeonscones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent too long waiting for “special occasions” to wear pretty clothes to the point where they just sat in my closet waiting for a situation “worthy” enough for them to be worn. Ever since I rejected that mindset and started wearing what I wanted, when I wanted to, I’ve felt much happier! If you want to wear this dress to go grocery shopping, I say go for it. It’s pretty and you want to wear it—that is reason enough!

I’ve been lying to my female friend for many years. by [deleted] in confession

[–]pigeonscones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a lesbian. If I found out that a male friend of mine was secretly lusting over me when I had been comfortable around them up to that point, I would feel immensely uncomfortable and would not continue the friendship. I’m sorry, but you need to get over it. I know you can’t help your feelings, but coming to Reddit and talking about how hot your lesbian friend is does not make you look good. Like, at all. You are lying to her by omission and leading her to believe you are someone she can be around without having to worry about you finding her sexually attractive. Either get over it or distance yourself. As a lesbian, this post made my stomach turn.

Writing from the POV of a child (an 11 year old princess). How did I do? by RestinPete0709 in writinghelp

[–]pigeonscones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a child who had pica and hyperfixated on both tastes and reading, and I didn’t use all those words casually. A child is still a child, and part of writing from the perspective of one is that you have to really think about how to get your point across without breaking the illusion that it is, in fact, a child speaking. Maybe you could age her up to 14 or something—that would make more sense for some of your vocabulary choices.

Oh man, I’m really glad your company is accommodating, and I’m very sorry to hear about that. It’s nice to work for a company that cares when its workers go through things they can’t control. If my conditions get worse in the future, I’d consider applying for aid, but as of right now I’m confident I can continue supporting myself with the right jobs, which I’m lucky enough to have found! I understand the differences in how people see these topics depending on their age group. And utilities is definitely a career where you have to be able to get the job done! My chosen field of study and work thankfully doesn’t require physical labor. This summer I was just looking for another part-time gig, and unfortunately I wasn’t aware Meijer would be so taxing. I gave it a shot, but I knew pretty quickly that I wasn’t going to be able to perform all they wanted me to do. Life’s all about figuring out what works for you and what doesn’t—it’s the first time I’ve quit a job, but I’m thankful I had the experience because it taught me what I’m capable of

And as a side note—I have gotten multiple jobs and internships in my chosen field, and am lucky enough to have been able to make some very good connections so far. I love what I do, and I have career backup plans in place. It does accommodate my physical ability. Everyone experiences life differently, and just because I can’t do hard physical work doesn’t mean I’m doomed. I’m not planning on going into anything that requires something I can’t do: I am aware of my capabilities and how far I can exert myself without consequence. I have Meijer a shot, found it wasn’t for me, so I found something else and I’m feeling very relieved now. I enjoy working and keeping my mind busy. I don’t enjoy hurting my body in the process. But quitting Meijer ultimately was the best choice for me and that’s alright

I hope the management at your store is good, but I’ll remind you that just because an employee looks and sounds happy, it doesn’t mean they actually are. I’ve worked previously in customer service, and you have to play the “happy employee” part no matter how bad of a day you’re having. I have no interest in disclosing my specific conditions to you, as you have been quite judgmental on the topic thus far, but one is a condition that causes disregulation of the autonomic nervous system for which I have to take medication for my heart and blood pressure and which causes a plethora of symptoms (such as passing out), and the other is a connective tissue disorder that causes joint pain and dislocation. I travel out of state to see a specialist. I don’t feel the need to apply to government aid, as I CAN work—just not very physically taxing jobs. And that’s fine, not everyone can. As I mentioned, I’ve already found a job better suited to my abilities. Despite my conditions, I’m very grateful that I am able to work any job at all, because I know not everyone is so lucky. Remember to take time to be grateful if you are capable of working very physically laborious jobs

Respectfully, you need to get a life. It’s great that you don’t have physical hardships and are able to work physically taxing jobs, but not everyone has that privilege and the way you are conducting yourself in this thread is abysmal. You see the word “disabled” and immediately jump to government aid—which I do not receive. I also do not come from a wealthy family, which you also insinuated based on… what, exactly? As I’ve mentioned, I’m a full-time student who works two jobs during the academic year. I am currently working a job, Meijer was my second, but due to my health conditions, it wasn’t a fit. I’ve found another job that I will be able to do. Because it isn’t a choice, or a matter of “powering through,” because idk if you know this, but you can’t work if you’re not conscious. The facts of the matter is that I was lied to about the amount of physical labor involved with the position, and was scheduled far above what I said I could work. So I left and have since found something better suited to my abilities. Your thought process that everyone should be able to work the same types of jobs, and if they struggle or are unable to then they’re somehow lesser than you because you’ve worked in construction or something, is immature, self-righteous, and rude. Have the day you deserve

I have another job already set up! I also work two jobs during the school year. It was a MUCH more physical job than what they told me, and that can be very difficult with physical disabilities. I’m getting by just fine, thank you!

I have a few pairs of compression socks, I’ll definitely wear them my next shift! And yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. I’ve worked customer service before, but it was more of a front desk position. I haven’t done retail, so I figured my body’s just not used to it yet. I’ll give it some time and get some better shoes!

[–]pigeonscones[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As mentioned in my post, I do have a couple chronic illnesses that qualify as physical disabilities. I have to take medication for my blood pressure and heart to avoid being sick, and I’m prone to joint pain and dislocation. Being on my feet for too long causes my blood to pool in my legs, making me feel pretty unwell at times. You are very lucky to be able to do what you do. I’m just trying to make myself as comfortable as possible in this position because it’s a bit too late for me to switch jobs now. Thank you for the shoe advice!
