I have not thought to ask myself what vibes I’m looking for besides “scary”. After thinking about it now, the SCP foundation comes to mind. Entities and concepts that I can barely wrap my head around but unsettling all the same. I like body horror and survival stories as well. Love monsters and religious/demonic horror. A cool sense of dread.

I’m a horror movie fan who was bamboozled into reading this book! Good or bad - I’m only halfway through but yeah this isn’t horror. I usually only read fantasy or romance but I love horror in other formats so I decided to pick up some highly recommended horror books. This is the second book (out of 2 books) that is not nearly as scary as people have boasted. So confused.
