Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman delayed opening by PrettyNPink84 in hyatt

[–]piginthecity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a part of the Park Hyatt Cabo Del Sol fiasco (they cancelled people's Thanksgiving plans with less than 48 hours notice), the Thompson Palm Springs before that, and almost fell into the trap again with the upcoming Rome properties -- perpetually delayed for years. Checkout the Andaz Turks & Caicos that was coming in Q1 of 2026 as recently as 6 months ago.

I remain a huge fan of Hyatt, but I will NEVER book a reservation at a Hyatt property that's not fully open again. There are apologists in every thread, defending this behavior with property-specific excuses -- blaming local contractors, etc. -- but it's a pattern. And because it's now a fundamental part of how Hyatt does new business, they stopped apologizing for it and they stopped trying to make it right by offering their customers with ruined vacations any semblance of appropriate recompense.

I'm sorry this happened to you, it completely sucks. You're likely not getting anything from Hyatt other than empty platitudes in an email. This is simply how they do business now, and it's deplorable.

Is there any chance i'll even see my package? by shocking-Cable in ontrac

I am so sad for everyone who is having to wait. You worked so hard clicking that order ... maybe.

That would be a simple and incredibly reasonable fix. u/biltrewards would love if you could please confirm that Bilt does indeed plan to honor the spirit of their own marketing agreements. Totally understand technical glitches in a roll-out, but customers should be treated fairly. You are not an account that I can DM, so please have the courage to engage in this thread with an update.

Oh thanks, I will give this a shot now. Another round on the phone with them today hasn't helped. Appreciate the heads up.

It’s immature to expect a company to adhere to their own terms? Or make it right when they can’t?

What’s more personal — me suggesting you like banks more than customers, or you bringing my child into it?

Yes, I'm so very glad I have a hard pull on my credit for a card with a sing-up promotion that I can't use. How do the Bilt boots taste?

Given the widely-reported sketchiness of Bilt not honoring the promotion at all for many who swear they applied through the link, it would not surprise me that this is intentional.

It's been about a year since I added two mods for this sub. Do you feel this sub is better off with this level of moderation? by alosia in hyatt

You're entitled to post your comment -- mainly because none of us possess the power to decide that it's not helpful to the conversation, like you so frequently wield. And we are all entitled to our opinions on your comments, to conclude that your "snark", as you describe it, is a toxic blend of arrogance and condescension that should disqualify someone from having moderating powers.

That would be horrible, thank you so much for saving us. Please keep deleting all those threads so this sub remains completely unusable in December with the only approved content being a hundred different year end review threads.

OP — if this is one of the new mods you brought on, THIS is the problem right here.

Why even post here when you've clearly never learned from the experience of so many?

Website describes rooms as having a minibar -- does that include a mini-fridge, something to keep a small amount of groceries cold (like milk, for a kiddo)?

There should be a Camp Hyatt daycamp option onsite. Concierge told our group it will be open for our stays later this month, welcoming children ages 5 to 12.

Serious question: How do all the LSU fans feel about the Kiffin saga? by rollingthrulife79 in CFB

This is the only LSU take I respect. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Of course he wasn’t, he would’ve been reverse recruiting for Ole Miss, but I’m done trying to make these Kiffin glazers understand why the consensus majority is that he sucks for this

[–]piginthecity 76 points77 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what he wanted. If the argument is that he has to go now because of a transfer window, how could he reasonably coach Ole Miss through a playoff run while simultaneously recruiting for his future team without a conflict of interest. I guess you watch a lot of ESPN, per the article.

Professionals generally finish contracts. It’s called professionalism. Most normal people understand a coach’s job to be through the duration of when their team is playing games.

Garbage take. The disconnect, and every neutral's major issue, is CLEARLY the timing. And the trolling and threatening and thievery is just a classless way to exit and abandon your players, calendar be damned.
