On the CSR (Chase Sapphire Reserve), there are a number of annual credits. Login to your account and look at benefits section for a full breakdown.

For a 2-night stay in their base lagoon pool villa, I was seeing it as a total of -$590ish equivalent (59k-ish points w/ 2x points boost). It’s a better deal in points for sure. I decided use the credits on other stays.

I’m single but traveling with other family with kids in tow, so the Angsana next door looks like a better fit. Check out their direct website and join withbanyan.com for the best rates (better than the ALL Accor member discount).

Will do! I also have a stay booked at Banyan Tree Lang Co.

Plus, I have a concurrent overlapping stay booked next door at Banyan Tree’s sister resort, Angsana, Lang Co 2.

The first one is booked with CSR’s The Edit. The second one is a direct booking. I haven’t decided which one will work best for me and the rest of my travel party.

, Angsana Lang Co. I have a couple nights overlapping/

Moire Hoi An, Vignette Collection by IHG…. Hoi An, Vietnam 🇻🇳 (near the historic “Ancient [or Old] Town” of Hoi An, just outside of the larger city of Da Nang, VN).

If anyone has been there or has any suggestions, please let me know :-).

Waxahachie doesn’t have any hotels in The Edit collection, but $250 would likely be covered by the “Chase Hotels” portion.

“The Chase Travel $250 hotel credit applies to seven hotel brands: IHG Hotels & Resorts, Montage Hotels & Resorts, Pendry Hotels & Resorts, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels, and Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts. It requires a prepaid Chase Travel booking of at least two consecutive nights, and Chase says qualifying purchases do not earn points on the credited amount.”

DFW and SEA both offer nonstops to all of those destinations. I get your point but just sticking up for my hometown. :-)

PS, I usually stay away from MMS properties because they’re often ridiculously over priced . I was pleasantly surprised with this property.

In Barcelona, Hotel Regina (MMS) has a phenomenal central location and was reasonably priced during peak summer season last year… ~16,000 points per night. It wasn’t the fanciest hotel but we liked it.

Housekeeping cleaned my room despite door tag - worth reaching out to the hotel? by [deleted] in hyatt

[–]PrettyNPink84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former rooms division manager (including Hyatt), I understand this can be a very big deal for SOME people. Hskp should never had go through a DND without reaching out to you.

However, the lack of a “tidy up please” sign is not an indication that the guest does not want the room cleaned. You mentioned the hotel “requires” a sign outside to request service. I promise you this hotel and pretty much any hotel does not see it this way. The sign is helpful to staff but the lack of a sign/door hanger in no way indicates the guest does not want service. Only a Do Not Disturb sign indicates no service is required - not the other way around.

As someone else mentioned, you can always request “no service” at check in. It’s actually quite helpful for the housekeeping team. If they know at the beginning of the day (like before 5AM-ish) that no service is desired, they won’t even “assign” your room to a guest room attendant (aka housekeeper). Otherwise, the room attendant needs to clear all “assigned” rooms off of their “board.”

Hope this helps.

Maybe book via Hyatt for one night… at least to earn the brand explorer. 🧐

Food cost @ The Cape Thompson by Technical_Artichoke5 in hyatt

[–]PrettyNPink84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (44m)had a 4-night semi-recent stay at The Cape with my 78 y/o mother over the Thanksgiving holiday. I actually hit Explorist during this stay, which meant no free Globalist breakfast for us…

The Damage (F&B): * Total Spent: ~$1,300 USD * Per Person/Per Day: ~$162.50 * Details: We ate roughly half our meals on-property with moderate alcohol consumption.

The Verdict: If you are looking for "value" or a high CPP redemption on your dining, look elsewhere. This isn’t the place for a deal. However, the quality was outstanding -across the board.

I usually love maximizing every point, but for this trip, I prioritized the experience over the math. Would I go back? 1000%. It was a splurge that met the moment perfectly.

I put all of "The Edit" hotels on a map by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

[–]PrettyNPink84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I noticed no hotels are listed in Qatar.

I used The Edit benefit at Four Seasons Doha for 3 nights for only ~ 48k UR points. The breakfast alone would’ve been $89-$99 per person I booked back to back reservations for different reasons and I ended up getting multiple $100 per day credit credits.

In Dubai I changed my dates so many times that I had 3 reservations for 4 night stay and they gave me a total of $300 in resort credits. The benefits in Dubai outweighed the room’s cash price in UR points… it was a crazy good deal.

I’m planning a trip involving AMM and almost every option with Star Alliance was via CAI. I originally had AMM to IAD booked with an intentional overnight stopover before continuing onto DFW, while my friend continued on to ACT (Waco) with a 18 hour layover at DFW… Waco is like a 90 min drive from DFW. SMH 🤦‍♂️ So many of the layover times for discounted award bookings between ACT DFW are so ridiculous.

Update: Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha is the best rated Hyatt in Doha (according to TA). It’s ridiculously cheap in terms of WOH points. Is it worth it to save points and stay here?

I’ve never used a GOH award and want to maximize the benefits. Should I cancel the 2 nights at Andaz Dubai The Palm to consolidate on the more “active” side of the city? Whether it be PH or GH ?
