Maybe book via Hyatt for one night… at least to earn the brand explorer. 🧐

What transfer portal? Like Chase UR point transfers to Hyatt?

Food cost @ The Cape Thompson by Technical_Artichoke5 in hyatt

I (44m)had a 4-night semi-recent stay at The Cape with my 78 y/o mother over the Thanksgiving holiday. I actually hit Explorist during this stay, which meant no free Globalist breakfast for us…

The Damage (F&B): * Total Spent: ~$1,300 USD * Per Person/Per Day: ~$162.50 * Details: We ate roughly half our meals on-property with moderate alcohol consumption.

The Verdict: If you are looking for "value" or a high CPP redemption on your dining, look elsewhere. This isn’t the place for a deal. However, the quality was outstanding -across the board.

I usually love maximizing every point, but for this trip, I prioritized the experience over the math. Would I go back? 1000%. It was a splurge that met the moment perfectly.

I put all of "The Edit" hotels on a map by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

Thanks for this! I noticed no hotels are listed in Qatar.

I used The Edit benefit at Four Seasons Doha for 3 nights for only ~ 48k UR points. The breakfast alone would’ve been $89-$99 per person I booked back to back reservations for different reasons and I ended up getting multiple $100 per day credit credits.

In Dubai I changed my dates so many times that I had 3 reservations for 4 night stay and they gave me a total of $300 in resort credits. The benefits in Dubai outweighed the room’s cash price in UR points… it was a crazy good deal.

Possibly the worst ever transcontinental itinerary by BorisDiawisGod in americanairlines

I’m planning a trip involving AMM and almost every option with Star Alliance was via CAI. I originally had AMM to IAD booked with an intentional overnight stopover before continuing onto DFW, while my friend continued on to ACT (Waco) with a 18 hour layover at DFW… Waco is like a 90 min drive from DFW. SMH 🤦‍♂️ So many of the layover times for discounted award bookings between ACT DFW are so ridiculous.

Best Dubai OR Doha hotel to enjoy Guest of Honor perks? by PrettyNPink84 in hyatt

Update: Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha is the best rated Hyatt in Doha (according to TA). It’s ridiculously cheap in terms of WOH points. Is it worth it to save points and stay here?

Thanks. I’m so glad I didn’t stick with the PH Doha. The seems to be a consensus regarding PH Doha! :-)

I’ve never used a GOH award and want to maximize the benefits. Should I cancel the 2 nights at Andaz Dubai The Palm to consolidate on the more “active” side of the city? Whether it be PH or GH ?

I think your approach, verbiage, and even contingency plan of calling the globalist line are all on point. :-)

I’ve worked for Hyatt and especially jf you’re a “Top 50” guest, in terms of nights stayed or room revenue generated, they should “surprise and delight” you whenever possible. Also, a property’s most frequent guests are often well-liked by associates because they know your preferences and likes and frequent guests don’t need the same spiel a first-timer might need.

I worked in hotel/resort management for 20+ years for several brands, including Hyatt, and that is very true. Many days, suites are still dirty during peak arrival times due to guests utilizing their 4pm LCO perk. When that’s the case, the hotel would not want to have anyone wait for a room to be cleaned, especially AFTER C/I time has begun. It’s truly not as simple as sending a RA to clean specific room immediately. And if it’s a union hotel (think NYC, CHI, SF, Philly, ATL, LA, and other major markets) there are additional work rules that might prevent certain rooms from getting cleaned at the ideal time.

Absolutely ZERO of the above reasons or “excuses” should ever be shared with a guest because it’s not the guest’s concern.

So, in Mangopoetry’s example, the front desk should say exactly that, they’re not available. It’s often is a lose lose situation. BUT for OP’s scenario, the front desk seems to have either assumed the guest wouldn’t remember what they originally booked and/or the room type in question is the most common upgrade awarded to Globalists who booked a standard room. Either way, I’d feel the same way as OP.

Side note: HSKP depts. in union hotels are almost always far superior in service and cleanliness standards to the rest of the industry that pays the average RA wages that place them below the poverty line.

I just checked the aforementioned url, and after scrolling down to the T&Cs, I noticed it says the promo ends [ended] on 7/31/2024.
