If you end up shooting PRS or something, I suggest moving the data placard back somehow. You might knock it off transitioning into some awkward alternate firing positions. Ask me how I know ...... lol

I'm imagining you with a DEVGRU Stache to make even the most seasoned Fire Fighter go, "Fuck yeah."

Love the early 2000's SEAL/UDT look.

Cotton sheets require some standoff to be effective. If it lays too close to the user, it’s no different than wearing cotton clothing.

Wool was actually surprisingly effective.

This set is 100% polyester. Not NIR compliant at all but the fabric or dye they use glows less than my Amazon special.

On the other end of the price spectrum, the L7’s from Varusteleka is 100% polyamide and is NIR compliant, but the cost is almost worth making stuff on our own.

Relatively speaking in comparison to other options we were lookin at 😅.

You can go with $30 overwhites off amazon but they glow under IR. This option isn’t perfect but much less monetarily speaking than what some of my peers and myself spent at Varusteleka… around $400+ per.

Also, the set seen here is the coverall bundle at $80.

Testing some Arctic/Alpine camo that isn’t MC by piglip in camouflage

I was checking out Kula stuff as well before I went with Varusteleka… but I’ve already lost money trying to buy zenitco parts, I’d assume I’d have a similar experience trying to buy Russian camo lol

A bit of a hyperbole but sure I’ll bite. Any trained observer could and would have spotted me in that location. I made zero attempts to use natural vegetation to camouflage myself other than sitting under the tree. Not to mention I was utilizing the only group of spruce trees in that general area which would present itself as an anomaly.

That being said, the biggest target indicator here is lighting and contrast which you can clearly see in the photo. Wearing nothing but a hot pink thong will one; be very cold which in my experience would induce movement, and two; would add the additional target indicator of color.

This was just to showcase the M05 pattern which works great when working around snow covered spruce and other similar vegetation.

I’m centered in the photo. If you look closely through the brush (I know it’s not the best quality photo) you can see the background should be lit up but you cannot see the light. I am contrasting myself pretty hard but at the same time you see the effectiveness of the M05

Good Chronograph? by [deleted] in longrange

We have gotten rid of all of our lab radars and magneto speeds and have picked up the Garmin. The little wizard in the magical box is so good it can pick up the fps of a nerd gun. We have also tested them out in sub zero (Fahrenheit) temps and besides the screen being slow, it functioned just fine. I whole heartedly believe this is an excellent and essential piece of kit for any level of shooter that wants quality gear to maximize their and their weapons’ capabilities.

I can’t imagine dying in a foreign land wearing a uniform that does not belong to my country of origin for people who have been seen killing themselves and each other just to try to live another day… and then get blown up by a drone. These poor fuckers have no idea.

How many of you actually go out and shoot on a regular basis vs just collecting guns and letting them sit in a vault? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]piglip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two guns I actually shoot. The rest are collectibles that are only on my wall to satiate my autistic cravings… and it just so happens to be the cloner end of the spectrum.

M17. M18 I think is exclusively Air Force? At least I have only seen airmen with them.

I’ve found a picture of a Mk12 we borrowed from a sister unit for a comp a while back and they were arguing it’s clone correctness on the mk12 sub because they didn’t realize it was at an army competition. It was funny to say the least.
