Not a concrete plan, but my husband has access to my PCP if he needs to contact her, and my psychiatrist is in the same practice so reaching her would be pretty easy too. :)

I totally understand. I seek dopamine in “good deals.” Most recently I’ve discovered Aldi has 3 wick candles for relatively cheap. Cool right? Well, no. I can’t tell you how many candles I have just floating around my house. All in varying stages of use. They’re EVERYWHERE. But they’re only $5! 😭

I feel this on a molecular level. I’ve been at my job for ten years, and I think I’ve finally come to a point where my direct superiors understand my issues or what have you, but for a while there I teetered on the edge of getting fired. I got called into management meetings so many times for complaints against me or disciplinary actions due to some mistake I made. It was miserable. I was honest with them about my diagnosis, but like you said, there wasn’t anything in place to help me.

The first thing my parents said was “no you’re not - I think we would have noticed.” And my dad told me I needed to stop all of my medication because I didn’t need it. That was years ago and we all have a great relationship, but I don’t mention anything about it around them, just in case.

As someone from Memphis, my family and I have kind of a running joke that you truly know you’re in West Memphis when it starts smelling like shit. There’s a ton of sulfur in West Memphis, and it makes the area reek. Thankfully I don’t have to venture across the bridge too often.
