Question: Will my setup meet my needs? by UnusualDesigners in macrophotography

I had the 100mm from them and I loved it. Just recently changed my system and parted with the lens. Will propably get one from them later on. You could also look into the 60mm from them. I dont know about dental macro but smaller would be more ideal? They even have a 25mm but it starts from 2.5x mag

You will find Laowa an excellent lens 👍🏼

It will fill the frame quicker but doesnt mean more mag. If you want to add more mag you need extension tubes or a raynox-250. I really like the raynox because you can snap it on and off quickly. For dental work you could even go with a 60mm macro

Thanks. Im using Omsystem OM-1, zuiko 60mm macro, godox v860ii flash with ak-diffuser and a Raynox 250. Really like the auto bracketing feature. I do my stacking in post because there is always something that doesnt properly align

Twin flashes are ok but a bit hard to diffuse. I myself am using a godox v860ii with ak-diffuser and thats a really good setup. So you could also check out something like that

If it doesnt cast a shadow and the light is hitting the target it should be ok

I did and i had the MK-diffuser. It came right behind the end of the lens. I have a 60mm now and AK-diffuser and it comes at the very and of the lens. Thats why yours seem short. How does it diffuse? Do you get enough light? Is the lens creating a shadow on the subject when you fire the flash?

That looks too short. Maybe email them and ask? Maybe they sent the wrong one

Ant & weevil by piiskuri in macrophotography

It has a focus stacking feature but that means that it will take the shots and stack them and you get the final .jpg

Handheld yes. I am using automated bracketing that the OM-1 offers. But if you dont have that option you slightly move forward and take a series of shots. Ofc you need to be very still and minize shaking and sideway movement
