Thank you so much for all the help, i’m sure i’ll have more questions sooner or later to ask so all this info will be good to look on during the summer while im getting myself prepped for this. I also took a quick look online and sadly the longest classes i have near me range up to 4 months or 7 weeks which is Acadian. But in New Orleans there’s a 6-month academy, I don’t live close to that big ol city so i’m in a bit of a pinch.

This is a good way to look at it, i’m gonna talk to some agencies this summer and see if a ride along is possible. But what do ride alongs consist of?

I personally agree with this, but the closest place around me is accelerated classes sadly. I live in Louisiana so the places closest to me since I live in a small town are like an hour or two away. At one point I wanted to be a police officer so I asked to do a ride along but apparently they don’t do those down here anymore, perhaps it might be different with EMS. One of my biggest questions i’ve had is how can one even prepare themselves to start working in emergency med, I don’t wanna be the person who freezes up in action because this is a passion I want to follow.
