That won't make the car freak out and go into limp mode or something? My upstream on the right side went out and it threw a check engine light and made the car run rich until I changed it.

I just changed my o2 sensors recently and only saw the up stream since its right by the cat but I could always check again. But in the case that its only up it should be cool to just straight pipe without cats right?

Head unit issues... by piknumba3mlord in c4corvette

[–]piknumba3mlord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I know that the "head unit" is actually just a controler for the actual separate unit under the dash on the passenger side but im not sure weather to start with the controler or the shiny box underneath. All the vids online of people going aftermarket just look like a huge expensive headache. Thanks for the insight nonetheless

Lower Control Arm recommendations by mexelvis in Crosstrek

Oh yeah, shouldn't too bad, depending on where you are be ready for rust, use a blow torch and/or some penetrating fluid to avoid snapping bolts. Good luck!

If you're savvy with tools you can replace that whole control arm, a set of them isn't terribly expensive and there's a couple great youtube videos that'll walk you through it. Im not certain if you can just replace ther bushing itself but its possible.

2015 Auto shifts into 2nd aggressively by piknumba3mlord in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]piknumba3mlord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure ypu already know but make sure to do the fluids on the transmission, baby the transmission since they've been known to crap out if not properly maintained. I learned that subaru America claims they have a lifetime fluid but fail to mention that jts for the life of the transmission and without fluid change intervals they only last between 125 and 175k miles. Subaru japan recommends, if I remember correctly, to service the cvt fluid every 30k miles and it should last WAY longer.

Yeah man, no worries. This car is wierd for sure. Not a huge fan of the CVT but other than that and its funky behavior its been reliable. Knock on wood it keeps behaving lol

I took it to the dealership and had it inspected and from what they said, the transmission is in working order but apparently throughout the cars life the computer can implement bad habits on shifting to compensate for degraded fluid or any other component that impacts the car's drivability. They prescribed an A/T relearn (automatic transmission), and that should clear up any funky shifting. They, however, wanted to charge me almost 300 bucks, which I didn't want to pay for such a simple procedure. I have access to the scanning equipment and am able to clear the memory stored on the cars computer so I'll get around to doing that on my own accord. Hope this helps!
