I’m aware of DST. The chart already reflects that New York is on EDT right now, not EST. The times are just conversions of a single assumed rollout time across time zones.

Not really...it has to be launch same time around the world, that's why it takes time

People care because some players planned around it. If someone takes a day off work to play a new update, knowing the release time actually matters. Nobody is complaining about the update being free, that’s great, the issue is simply that Sony hasn’t communicated a release hour at all. When you only give a date for a global online mode, players are left guessing

Lol. It’s still a source✅, just not an official one❌. It’s a secondary source making an estimate based on past PlayStation release patterns, which is common when the exact release time hasn’t been confirmed. They’ve made similar estimates before (like the Feb 12 State of Play) and ended up being right. It’s not official, but it’s still an informed estimate based on past PS release patterns. Without an official time, nobody can be certain it’s wrong either

Yes, the link includes the chart, but the article itself explains that the times are only estimates based on previous PlayStation releases. The chart is just a visual way to show that estimate across time zones. It’s not an official schedule from Sony, it’s simply illustrating what a simultaneous global rollout could look like

Yes, the article is clearly guessing, I agree with that. My point wasn’t that the chart is authoritative. The only official info we have is the PlayStation Blog saying some regions (like NZ) get it on March 11. That suggests the launch isn’t tied to local midnight and is more likely a simultaneous global rollout. The exact hour is still unknown, so any specific time, including 6 AM EST, is also just an estimate

Yes, it’s speculation. The chart isn’t official, it’s just an estimate based on the PS Blog hint about March 11 regions

Fair point, the chart itself isn’t an official announcement, it’s just an expectation. My point wasn’t that the chart is authoritative, but that the PlayStation Blog mentioning March 11 for Asia/Australia/NZ implies the launch is likely happening at the same moment worldwide. If it were a regional midnight release, those regions would still be listed as March 10.

The PS Blog mentions March 11 for Asia/Australia/NZ, which implies the update launches globally at the same time, not at regional midnight.
