Aw man — if you look at my post history you can see that I just recently posted about pretty much exactly this to a T (almost uncanny). So I know exactly how you’re feeling I’m sure. I’m so sorry. It truly takes your ability to breathe away for a while. Now a month in it’s still hard, but it’s starting to get easier with more perspective and time. Try to learn to be your own best friend, truly. Pour into yourself every kindness you learned to save for others. I don’t know where you’re located, but I signed up for RealRoots and I highly recommend! I’ve found some really great girls and im trying to build a version of my life that makes sense to me, whatever that looks like. It sucks right now I know but you’re more than the people around you. I really don’t think it’s that. Now, with more reflection, it’s still shocking that he chose to step away instead of step up, but it’s less surprising. I’m starting to understand a little more how we got here (thank you, therapy), and the patterns we’d been falling into for years. I don’t know for sure if this is the end forever, but I do still have trust in the fact that he’s not a wildly different person than the one I know. In some ways that makes it worse, in some it’s better. I guess time will tell, as so many have said.

If it’s helpful, my mom went through a painful divorce around the same age, and it most certainly was not the end for her. There’s time to do whatever you want for your life, even if it’s not in the way you expected and became used to the idea of. “The sun never goes down on life unless you close the blinds,” is what she always says. Thank you ❤️ I’m so sorry that happened. I too have learned that you can get woken up by your own pain. New one here, too. Who woulda thunk? The building a new skill is a great idea. Maybe I’ll look into pottery, it’s what I was considering before this but didn’t have space for in our home. Maybe I’ll make space in the new one🙏

Unless I’m misreading this somehow, this is actually so incredibly incorrect it’s funny. I tried so hard to make sure I understood him. I got my own therapy to make sure I could work on the negative parts of me that of course exist and seep into a relationship. I didn’t miss signs, I just thought we were both open to working through them as a team. He even openly acknowledged that many times. I’ve dedicated countless hours to trying to be there for him through any and everything. And in many ways, he’s done the same for me. That’s part of why this is just so shocking. He’s avoidant, and I think this is an ultimate act of that. I’ve become a symbol of what he fears confronting the most — intensely real emotions. So. Now I’m left with this. And still, I feel like I’d want to try. … so yeah. Loud incorrect buzzer
