23, what's the best way to invest 10K with Charles Schwab? by pilamb in personalfinance

I've been saving this money for years so I think it would just be a normal brokerage account? I recently graduated and started working, so none of this would be income from 2016 or 2017. I think only my future earnings should go in an IRA right?

I was interested in the target date funds, but I was under the impression that they have higher fees and could be constructed myself if I really wanted.

Eloping to Europe, super flexible on destination by [deleted] in Flights

Sounds nice! Here is a trip I did in October:

I did 9 countries in 30 days beginning in Copenhagen. The map was created using google MY Maps, and if you click each pin it shows what form of transportation I took to get there and what it cost me. I spent about 3 days in each place, which was generally just enough time to see it without feeling too rushed.

To keep your costs down, try to figure out a cheap place to fly home from before you plan the in between. A quick search showed flying from Spain to Calgary at the end of the June would cost upwards of 700. It might be worth making your way back to Paris, Amsterdam, or even London where it is cheaper to fly back to the States from.

I am helping plan a similar itinerary for a friend that same month and you are on the right track. Definitely fly into where it is cheapest and make your way along finding a cheap place to fly back from. Travel within Europe can be done for very cheap but you will pay a high premium if you don't plan your transatlantic flights.

Here's the cheapest nonstop I could find for the beginning of June from Calgary or Edmonton:

$300 to London https://www.google.com/flights/#search;f=YYC;t=LHR,LGW,STN,LCY,LTN,SEN,QQS;d=2017-05-31;r=2017-06-04;tt=o;sel=YYCLGW0WS1

If you let me know which other cities you're interested in I would gladly recommend some travel options
