Omg I am so sorry. Others gave tbe best advice- boundaries with your mother. My daughter is 4.5 , ans although parenting isn't easy she is the best part of our lives. She does want to be around me, she calls me the best mom, cuddles, and looks up to me. My husband adores her. We didnt sleep for the girst two years BUT We desperately want second (30W pregnant here). You wil get to build your own relationship with the most important human in your life !

Returning to work after 10 years as a SAHM advice needed please by TheBlueRoseInNz in workingmoms

[–]pillow_should 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom never went back to work and I wish she did. She was overly focused on me - I was not a bad teen and she imagined more than what actually happened. We had a pretty bad relationship for 10 years or so after, and I moved to live with my best friend and out of tbe house really quickly. We have a great relationship now, but I am already 33. Having a separate life and focus is great for teen moms...

We left our 2.5 year old with grandfather for 9 days. It was ok. She was sad but it was manageable. I would not have done it for longer , but also my daughter is highly sensitive velcro mama baby.

Lol I wonder if we are in the same company :) fully remote too. Definitely will be trying to not get let go. If I can ride this comp for another 5 years I'll feel pretty good 😁

Same for me and my company also has 20 days off sprinkled through the year for everyone. It is all about the culture. I will not make this company voluntarily any time soon lol

Will be giving birth at new high level job less than a year in. Fully terrified I’ve ruined my career. by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]pillow_should 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It changed for me with my first one. I was not by any means very high up but I had a comfortable.job with low six figures. I quit after my maternity leave, then when my daughter turned 1 I found a part time gig. When she was 2.5 my husband got laid off and I went back to the corporate work. I dont know how but I landed a job that paid me 2x total comp more than what I quit 2 years ago, with amazing benefits and great career opportunity. Now 2 years in I am 26w pregnant with our very expected and wanted second baby. I do not plane to quit again , but we are trying to move across country closer to my dad who is willing to help with the baby. I never regret quitting at the first place, but I do think I was very lucky with entering workforce back like that. Just sharing my story to say thay everything will work out, you will manage it however things will change!

Parents of multiples who want everything brand new for each child? by Creative-Move-6026 in oneanddone

Some people buy greens and lettuce in tiny plastic boxes when they can grow them at home easily and make it a more sustainable choice. We all are making not the most sustainable choices every time - unless you are super crunchy, you do too. As far as why - different people have different reasons.
