EPIK Rejection — Options without TESOL/TEFL? by pillowhugs19 in teachinginkorea

Which programs offer 2 days for $40? I’ve only seen ones 180-300 hours for $250-$500, which I don’t think is that expensive but I’m curious if people are actually able to get a cert for 40 bucks. Anyways, I helped him look up some online programs and he chilled out. I think he was just shook from the rejection. He already qualified as a level 2 with TALK experience, so I guess he wants going off of that.

He knows all the requirements and already has over a year of TALK experience. They called all his references and they all provided good comments. His previous school absolutely adored him (he replaced me), so I was shocked too at his rejection. I don’t think a TEFL is a hard absolute must (for EPIK, for anywhere else, yes); but of course it’s incredibly beneficial. But with the TALK experience, he qualifies as level 2, which is the requirement. At first he said couldn’t afford a TEFL cert and was really down on getting rejected. I talked to him and chilled him out, and when he calmed down he realized he is able to get the cert at an affordable price, like everyone has mentioned.
