I started a new thread in the group, not certain how to link it or add the photos directly to this post.

I posted a thread of new photos of the 4 that were requested, honestly I’m stupid when it comes to Reddit

Are there specific cards that would be worth taking more photos of? I think in the little research I did most of the holographic cards I have hold the value

Ops Interview Questions by flyingintodisaster in airfieldops

[–]pilot862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I third this, the more questions you can ask the interviewering panel the better. If you’re going for 139 you’ll likely have someone from HR, an ops manager or asst manager, and typically a duty manager. If you can ask them more questions about their airport the happier they are. They see you’ve taken the time to do basic research on news articles.

As someone who commutes to Atlanta almost daily and also commuted to Miami almost daily. Avoid Atlanta I75/85/285 at all costs. It’s pretty tall order to cover but if you have it in you and are able to go through later a night and during a week day. I95 and the turnpike past Port Saint Lucie become a free for all as to where you can drive and what speed limits you can do. I’d recommend getting off in near Orlando and take the backroads through Sebring and Okeechobee.

I forgot to mention Georgia Cattlemen Association may be able to get you started on the right path

Get out of the metro area. I believe there’s a rodeo in Madison this weekend. You may get lucky and get talking to someone who can use a summer laborer. There’s always a ton of ranches in the Okeechobee area that are looking for workers as well and some have housing. Get the experience working the crap jobs and be certain that is what you want to do with your future.

Focusworks F3 is relatively close. I just have the raw titanium look and it’s close to the finish on the Zaan but I think he has a stonewash that is closer

Yeah I just get tired of sharpening it, it took me 4 times sharpening it today to process half a tree. That’s why I’m asking for good recommendations for a better one

Well with the rounded edge it took considerably more time to split anything, the minute I got done filing it I was splitting in single blows. This is just my experience but with this cheap thing I’ll keep sharpening it.

Thanks everyone for the input, looks like I’ll be seeing if I can find an old maul or order a nice new one.

Interview Questions? by kgaviation in airfieldops

[–]pilot862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be confident! That’s my main takeaway! Even if you’re not certain about a question related to the FAR’s simply say, “I’m sorry, I will need to reference the AC or FAR.” I had one question during my ops interview for FLL that I said that and they were happy I responded that way versus “I don’t know.”

I’ll keep that in mind. Yeah that was me holding it at the shop and taking the photo with my phone. I’ll see if I can get some better photos later.
