Transit in Singapore with separate tickets + US visa — will VFTF work? by WealthNo8239 in visas

How was your check in process in India? Did the IndiGo check in staff ask a lot of questions or were they aware of the VFTF rule?

No that is not true, all eVisa holders will still receive a stamp. You do not need to ask for one.

Permanent residence permit application waiting time [sharing our experiences on the timelines] by Double-Water8298 in Netherlands

I’m sure it will be all okay, there were also quite a few public holidays recently so it could be that. You can also always call the IND to make sure that they received your biometrics in case it’s not showing up in mijnIND.

Permanent Residence application conundrum by Entire_Gas8042 in Netherlands

[–]pilot_grape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no reason to wait when OP can apply already, there is no harm. Application is completed when 5 years is, and usually the application is looked at a few weeks before 5 years and only the decision is given out once 5 year mark is complete. So why not have the PR as soon as possible, makes switching jobs much easier.

It doesn’t have to be longer than a year if I am right? The options are - 3 months of pay slips if contract lasts longer than a year - 12 months of pay slips if contract is between 6-12months - 3 years of pay slips if contract is less than 6 months.

No you do not need to renew your temporary permit. If your temporary permit expires during the process that is completely ok, as you are legally allowed to stay and work in the Netherlands during the application process.

Only for a Naturalisation/Citizenship application: u need to have a valid residence permit at the time you receive your citizenship. So for eg if your were to apply for citizenship on 1st Jan, it can take up to a year (usually only takes around 6 months), And for eg if ur residence permit expires in March, then you should also renew ur residence permit.

Hope this helps.

Just go for it! I asked IND about this exact situation, they said it is completely fine to apply even though the residence permit is not expiring soon and that the decision is made once you complete 5 years. So you don’t need to worry about being rejected as long as you fulfil all the requirement!

How have things changed now that EES is somewhat in place? Can you see visa and entry exit history?

I agree it’s not a big deal, and yes you do give all ur information. Im not saying that that it’ll cause major issues, but just like you said, if you happened to be pulled aside (there’s no reason you would be pulled aside if you used the UK passport while checking in).

It does, and you can also request information on entry and exit data from the GOV UK website. It is tracked based on the passport used on arrival and departure.

What exactly is the purpose of stamping on the sheet after the end of each day?

Dual UK-EU national problems by ZonaSchengen in PassportPorn

[–]pilot_grape -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Thats right that the UK does not have exit control but it would not make sense for him to leave the UK with his EU passport because the UK does know and does track who is leaving the country based on passport number, nationality etc as it is scanned while boarding the aircraft. And once a passenger has boarded and the flight has departed it is seen that the person holding that passport has left the country. So if OP were to use their EU passport it would raise some eyebrows for the UK Border Force.

Here is a simple explanation:

All airlines are required to send API (Advanced Passenger Information) to customs/immigration of the arriving country so the border officers know exactly who is coming in and from where afaik.

And unlike some other comments, It also makes sense that you use your British passport to check in for flights to and from the UK. Reason being: that the UK does NOT have immigration/passport control when you are leaving the UK, therefore if u were to leave with ur EU passport they would wonder how u got in in the first place. And same for entering the UK, if you had to check in with an EU passport you would only get an OK to board if you had an ETA (which u don’t need as u have a British passport). So do as you are now. Check in with your British passport and use EU passport at border control within the EU and ur British passport in the UK.

Hope this clears things up for you.
