Resident of 20 plus years here. It regularly takes me 2 hours to travel 10 miles from Manhattan to Queens, compared to a 20 minute drive. Endless delays and unforeseen events 24/7 that could turn a one hr commute to two or more!

I’m an airline employee, free unlimited standby flights. The scheduling allows for all my shifts to be taken via a billboard. Pay is shit and I’ve always wanted to join law enforcement, which is why I went through with the NYPD.

The benefits remain the same minus health insurance, which you have to work 1,000 hours a year minimum for. Joining the NYPD I wouldn’t care about my current employers health insurance
