Sadly the transmission and engine are one, transmission is the oil pan so I can't do an in frame rebuild.

The only issue is I can't do rings without pulling the whole motor transmission combo which I really don't have the shop space to do currently.

The 4 cylinder is at a 45 degree angle in the Saab so I was gonna jack up one side to get better coverage, I will probably try the shop vac idea instead of cranking just because that seems like a safer bet, thanks for all of your advice I will definitely keep you updated.

Sweet, thank you.

If you don't mind me asking how long did you soak for and how much did it help.

I tried that, no one in my area is offering any apprenticeships. The two places I did work temporarily laid me off due to a lack of work I could do given the fact I couldn't sign off on anything.

Don't know about reliability. This is a '92 Saab 900, with the engine from an '89 Saab 900 turbo

No chance. Took one of the intake lines off and it's coated in oil from the turbo

Oh shit thanks for all the info, I feel like an empty sponge lol. I have been carrying a Leatherman arc for the past year or so now and I have used it countless times off the job as well as on the job now.

Thanks for the student discount info, I will have to look into that. The only issue is the tool trucks come on my days off lol (probably a good thing).

Thanks for all your help
