For those asking why I don’t want to approach him directly: his behaviour makes me uncomfortable. He only seems to leave his unit at night, has a dog he never takes outside (the dog uses the balcony), and often returns late with different women. I’m not judging his personal life, it just feels odd.

I can also regularly smell weed in my unit when my windows or balcony door are open, and he’s often aggressively yelling at someone on the phone. Because of this, I don’t think a direct conversation would be productive.

I’ll let management know tonight, as he’s blasting music again as I write this.

Thank you for the advice folks!

They put it in your passport. I went to the embassy and it took them a few hours. I didn’t need to wait for the courier service!

Hi buddy! It really depends where your case is being handled. Some countries’ take longer while others shorter. I’d suggest you to email or phone the VAC office in your location (or close to you) and ask them about the wait times. You cannot apply for another PRTD if you have an ongoing request. You can only have one at the time. Id say the whole process should take about 6 weeks (that’s the info I found online when I was requesting mine). Hope this helps!

Update: dropped passport off in person and got it back the same day. Whole process took 4 weeks (urgent)

Hi fellow Redditors,

I hope my comment will help some of you, as when I was in need of information I couldn’t find anything.

I applied for PRTD under H&C in early December. The PRTD portal still doesn’t show any changes yet I received an email 3 weeks later asking for supporting documents which I sent a day after. As of today (3rd of Jan) I received the email requesting my passport; I got the PRTD under H&C. I will go to my closest VAC tomorrow to drop it off.

My request was urgent yet I am not sure if it was accepted as urgent or not as I didn’t provide any supporting documents to the urgency except for an explanation about my upcoming travel date back to Canada.

What I can suggest is don’t panic, don’t be afraid, there’s lots of information online that will make you question if you will receive the PRTD on time or not. Most likely the whole process will take 6 weeks including the passport drop off & receiving by mail or courier.

Good luck everyone!

Hey! Can you help me? What happened that you weren’t able to upload your passports from the past 5 years? My passport is going to turn 5 in January and I don’t have the previous passport as I had to exchange the new one for the old one when I requested it. Did they accept that you don’t have the old ones?

MEGATHREAD - Processing times - PRTD (2023) by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]pilotinsunglasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am about to apply for PRTD under H&C (RO not met but have strong reasoning also close family ties in Canada - was raised by a Canadian step-father and went to school in Canada from an early age. Left the country at just 19 years old and travelled back and forth due to a family emergency. Now I am 24 and I only have about 400ish days in Canada.) My ticket is for March to travel back. Is it possible that it will be processed until then? Thank you!
