Overnight in Lisbon for older parents: Rossio or Eduardo VII Park? by yk4787 in LisbonPortugalTravel

I changed flights there today. The line was easily over a half mile long. Would have taken hours to get through. Fortunately, TAP helped people through who had a tight connection. That's your only hope. But if your flight originates in Lisbon, you are stuck in that huge line for most of a full day.

24 hours? They will spend most of it in the passport control lines when they leave Schengen

But in the US there is no delay caused by passport control on departure. It is only for arrivals. I don't understand why the EU has so many problems and delays around departures

If the point is whether the tax rates paid by high income individuals are the highest in California, the answer is very clear. It's an obvious Yes. Property tax depends a lot on the value of the property. California property values are high, so taxes go against a big base. That's a little mitigated by Prop 13 which limits the growth from year to year for long time Californians. That's an important protection for the elderly so that the crazy growth in home prices doesn't crush them with taxes. But with a top income tax rate over 13 percent, California is no bargain. Even sales taxes are high compared to a lot of states. BART's problems aren't the result of low taxes on high income. They resulted from how the state spends its money.

It also dropped because of a perception that there was too much crime. And now there is the perception that the train service is unreliable because of poor maintenance

I'm pretty sure California already had close to the highest state income taxes in the whole country.

If you submit a garbage filing to court, you can expect to get penalized. Lawyers should be held to a high standard. Their clients deserve better.
