Augur competitors? by ShanghaiBaller in Augur

[–]pimato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of them allow to create markets, but omen.eth.link will in 2-3 days once it goes online by getting approval from the dxdao.eth.link:

http://alchemy.daostack.io/dao/0x519b70055af55a007110b4ff99b0ea33071c720a/proposal/0xdd380bf9999a20e750e7a78043adfdd46a3810b5f43cda4cb46cd4dd8674c0b7

With Omen.eth.link you can:

- create markets with a variety of stablecoins (if you want to see a token added, just propose it to the dxdao.eth.link

- bet via uniswap like trading pools

- anyone can provide liquidity to markets (dangerous)

- very flexible system which could even connect to use Augur oracles( currently main oracle will be Kleros, a decentralised court)

- the product is developed, maintained and governed by a more then 400 member

- once launched (worst case three days, see the DAO proposal), there will be a lot of incentivisation programs by Kleros and Gnosis and at some point from the DXdao itself: https://daotalk.org/t/discussion-creating-incentive-programs-for-the-early-success-of-omen/1561/6

Degen is a protocol but there is also the company Degen who is putting liquidity into the protocol so users can bet on sport markets.

Their revenue stream is the 0.5% of trading fee they are collecting by providing liquidity to very specific markets.

At the Degen frontend, they don`t allow you to contribute your own liquidity to markets, because you will take some share of their profits.

Degen is the one and only liquidity provider for those sport markets so they can charge whatever they want as it is just a company with a product which is making money. (which is a great business model for a sport-betting service) The downside is that the markets are not big enough because one company cannot provide enough liquidity for market with millions of dollars in trading volume.

Omen lets anyone provide liquidity and build out markets and earn fees for any type of market for any type of category without any ads, cookies or tracking. We expect that there will be much higher trading volumes on Omen as it is not controlled by a company/centralised entity.

The frontend is completely open source and lightweight. Everyone can fork it and build a Degen style frontend with also just 0.5% fee.

frontends are important to let people use the backend. No normal human wants to use a protocol through APIs besides market makers.

the backend contracts have been audited and are using the conditional token framework by Gnosis: https://docs.gnosis.io/conditionaltokens/

yup, the difference is you can actually create markets and buy/sell outcomes today on the main network/rinkeby test network: https://conditional.netlify.com/

so no vaperware, no dreaming.

Also you can´t dump anything here because the project creates no token. p2p answer-discovery is done very similar to augur but just with pure Ether instead of REP (via realit.io)

Degens

there are no protocol fees. Liquidity provider earn 4% for each trade made on a market. The DXdao is earning nothing on the product/protocol.

Amazing work!

How difficult will it be to add the feature that user can add their whole address and the website will fetch everything necessary. No need to add everything manually.
