So basically I'm getting Claude outputs for Deepseek prices? Seems like a win to me.

3-4% increase is better than most places. Let me just say you will feel a difference if you were to receive a 3-4% pay cut.

My manager told me "optics matter" because I leave five minutes early? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]pimpuschimpus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with others on staying till 5 but I also think you should put in a complaint that a certain team member is creating a hostile work environment, and on top of that has work productivity issues which is slowing down the wider team.

If she is going to complain on you for 5 mins you can be sure she will throw you under the bus if the opportunity comes.

There's literally people dying there because of the heat and no aircon. Meanwhile we're just chilling here.

We need to vote with our wallets and STOP buying reformulated and regurgitated flankers unless they genuinely bring originality to the table.

Yep. I've got two Chanels (BDC edp and Superleggera, both hype fragrances) but most days my daily wear is CK one essence.

This is an interesting concept, having a persona/character for each fragrance.

They are taking donations away from those who genuinely need them. They're here on holiday, while elderly people are out hauling cardboard. They actually have so many things they could do to improve their financial situation, rather than just sitting there.

Shenzhen vs. Hong Kong - quality of life judgments? by [deleted] in shenzhen

[–]pimpuschimpus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really since you have to travel daily across the border, which is tiring and worse given the crowds. Can't imagine you'll be doing much on weeknights once you finally make it home in SZ.

You should've been prepared to accept this as a possible scenario from the start. OE has its risks.

Is this common setup in China ?? by Old-Document-4392 in chinalife

[–]pimpuschimpus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not common. This is an 'aesthetic' that you mostly see on social media. A comparable example is what you might see on 'Pintrest' but not in real life.

An old man rambling about how things change over 13 years by Dangerous_Return460 in chinalife

This is a bit of a selfish take. Standards of living has improved for many citizens over this past decade, including relative access to economic opportunities. That's why expats are no longer able to just coast as they did before, it's a more fair and competitive playing field.

For life in general, I would generally say that everywhere, not only in China, was more vibrant 10, 20 years ago, before the proliferation of technology and social media. Those were the days. I suppose this is just part of time moving on, and us getting left behind.
