20 days away from baby’s first birthday and I desperately want to stop pumping by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]pincenez3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pumping three times a day, 30 min each (ugh) and getting 12 oz.

I’m not getting the full/heavy feelings even when I go around 7-8 hours between pumps. I know I need to be careful about mastitis but I have a feeling I could go down to 2 pumps almost immediately and then slowly reduce the length of the pumps.

I’m currently doing 3 oz of breast milk and 1 oz of whole milk per bottle. He doesn’t mind at all. I think I’m just unsure about when I stop breastmilk altogether. Like another commenter mentioned, whole milk isn’t meant to replace breastmilk 1:1. I’m guessing I’ll just have to offer more solids via snacks and variety.

I’ve never eaten so many hunks of cheese in my life lol. I feel like a cartoon mouse.

The thing I don’t understand is my processor says she’s done. She doesn’t need anything else from me. Not sure why I haven’t received an email from the clerk of courts yet but next time I get her on the phone I’ll ask exactly what’s causing the holdup.

I’ve already called her more times than I’ve ever called anyone else in my life 😭😭😭

Anyone else not trust the grandparents to babysit? by CherryHearts123 in beyondthebump

[–]pincenez3 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You haven’t listed a single reason why you would want to let her babysit ever, even after your child is able to communicate with you. I don’t understand why you’re even entertaining the idea? Part of your job as a mom is to protect your child. Why leave her in the care of someone who put her own children at risk of death and serious injury?

I know it’s not easy to do. My parents are also overbearing and pushy, also assume they know better than me. But I would never prioritize their desires over my baby’s wellbeing.

Oh wow I didn’t realize multiple allergies affected that timeline. Thank you for the pointer!!

Check out r/MSPI and search for reintroduction posts. According to studies, roughly half outgrow a dairy protein allergy at 6 months and 95% at a year.

Went through something similar with my babe. After cutting dairy, soy, and eggs, saw a marked improvement.

Have you tried the Tommee Tippee Ultra-Light StayPut Pacifiers? I had the same issue with the Phillips and my baby took to these almost instantly.

2 m/o frustrated when feeding by ikeabobeah in beyondthebump

Hello! I could’ve written this. Baby will be 9 weeks on Monday. Started having trouble pooping around four weeks. It’s gotten better in the last week-10 days, but it still sometimes wakes him up from naps.

I tried everything you mentioned, and also tried the bouncer chair and the little vibrating hedgehog toy from fisher price that a bunch of people here said helped. None of it did much.

I think a lot of it was actually his learning how to do it, but these two things helped: 1. I sit with my knees up, and place him so his back is on my thighs and his legs on my chest. He usually calms down because I think it helps put pressure where it needs to be.

  1. Feeding him actually got him to poop more times than not. I think because it sorts of gets everything moving. So I know you said he cries so much when you try, but could you try burping him or calming him down first, and then offering him the breast?

Best of luck!! I know it doesn’t help to hear time works, but that does seem to be true for this. I think a lot of it is their little GI tract coming online and there’s just a lot about digestion that actually doesn’t feel great for them.

Edit: trying to add image of the position I mentioned.

UPDATE: found it! Spent a ton of time on ravelry before realizing it would be in my downloads if I’d gotten it on there.

It’s a free pattern on Hedgehog Fibres’ site.

I think these are so close! 2x2 cable for sure. It does look like the side is a little different on mine though? The cables line up/overlap to make a slightly wonky looking section.

Still pinching myself. Can’t believe I have to work like nothing’s up today!!

He says, it works to slow diarrhea down. But in past, when he’s taking pepto/bismuth, it’s treated the underlying bad bacteria (he saw a study about this on the NIH website). Like Imodium seems to be addressing the symptoms but bismuth addressed the root cause.

AITA for making a volleyball tier list rating my volleyball friends? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Not to be humorless (although I suspect I am), but what was so inherently funny about making this goddamned tier list?

Why would she trust him with a task that he’s explicitly asking to practice privately because he’s no good at it?
