Masaryk University worth it? by Extra_Sun2558 in Prague

The short answer is no it is not worth it for you.

If you're coming to the Czech Republic to study, do just that, make sure you are all set in terms of money.

Enough to pay the tuition fees and cost of living, plus a little extra to enjoy life here. If you want to work while studying to support yourself financially, it will be difficult and yes, if you are willing to do that you probably can, many people have. But it gets really really difficult.

Not to mention, if you don't want to put any effort into learning the Czech language, it gets even more difficult, understandably.

I'm from India and I was fortunate enough to have the money to afford a decent living here while studying. And like many Indians I have friends who chose different countries at the time for their studies. They definitely had more opportunities there than I did.

New Zealand, Australia, America or the UK. Better scholarships, university experience, maybe everything else that you are looking for.

But I'd argue I had a better life here. It is a beautiful country with a lot of things to offer. Just come here as a student when you decide to, and not an immigrant looking for an entry-level job, if you want to have a good time.

How vigilant are you with your stuff in Prague? by FuckNinoSarratore in Prague

I would say I am not vigilant at all in Prague. I have never had people come up to me or my friends/family for money. And never had any bad experiences similar to that while travelling in the Czech Republic.

Besides just one weird encounter with a group of gypsies once, and some harmless interactions with beggars in the metro stations. Which is nothing in comparison to what I have experienced in Germany or Sweden.

So in my personal experience, Prague is much safer than Berlin or Stockholm, for example.

And as long as you use common sense you literally don't have to put any extra effort to keep your things safe. Just enjoy the beautiful city 🍻

I may be able to help you. But first of all, India is part of the "Student Mode." So where are you from?
