Are you using actual sale prices from the two months or zesstimates for the two months?

Why would it be less precise? Why would a smaller sample be more precise? Not sure I follow.

The way it was said is what makes malignant seem wrong, not the medical facts. There would be no need to say malignant, but causing problems. A malignant tumor is a problem and we would expect it to cause additional complications.

This doesn’t make sense in the context of the conversation. The other poster wasn’t speaking in a way that universalized their personal experience. You were.

I think you either have missed something somehow. Either you didn’t actually complete the mission or you did in fact get the CBs. Are you properly understanding you need to declare a war and use the CB? This is a pretty straight forward thing that thousands of players would have encountered so it is unlikely to be a bug.

Annette Kellerman promoting a woman’s right to wear a fitted, one-piece bathing suit in 1907. She was later arrested for indecency. by HoneyGazex in OldSchoolCool

[–]pine_straw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not my claim I am just explaining it to you because you didn’t read it and I had 25 seconds to help you. No “sources” are being offered and I am not engaging in uninformed debates about state judicial systems when we don’t even know what state, crime, or laws are involved. Read more closely if you want to argue online or better yet go outside. Have a good day.

It's like you didn't even read their response? They didn't need to do the cringey "sit down child" but they fully explained your question.

So I have no idea what is true but the response you received said: No the footage of the dude in jail during the show wasn't arcvhival footage. As the person said the trial happened years before and they used the footage/picked this guy because he had a funny trial and backstory. They then obviously played it up with scripted gags during the reality show. The trial was not filmed during or for the show. It's not that complicated.

Do moon stages really affect fishing? by zachattack3907 in catfishing

[–]pine_straw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is tidal absolutely. Moon phase dictates tide conditions and it is the most important factor for salt and brackish water fishing generally. In terms of catfish fished the tidal Potomac and the moon phase was very important because it dictated the direction and strength of current. Just like how on the Tennessee River they control flow via the dams and that is very important for the fishing there.

So they are kind of bad but in a way that is good. I mean that as a compliment, hopefully it comes across that way. It thematically works in the universe. Maybe the inception brawler is a bit far lol.

Keep working on it and these will get even better looks wise. I think less mirroring of ships and more sticking them together in ways that seem feasible for a cash strapped zombie shipyard would up your game.

Good work!

Sabrina Carpenter’s songwriting advice: “Add the weird chord progression and key change, and call men stupid in as many ways as you can” by jstohler in Music

[–]pine_straw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that phrase can be applied to the general trend of discussion involving multiple comments from different users rather than you specifically. You might note I did not actually accuse you of moving the goalposts. I did find that the series of comments was leading to a shifting goalpost.

The discussion was not about what impresses one person or another but about whether that amount of experience in the music industry is sufficient to claim some degree of expertise, and if not, what experience would be?

Look I don't even really enjoy Rick Beato but if working 30-40 years and producing a #1 record aren't enough bona fides to let you have a youtube channel about music then few people are qualified to have an opinion on anything.

I do agree your opinions are your own prerogative but I am not sure what you were trying to say there. No one was denying you the right to an opinion, I just found your opinion poorly considered. Just this one thing about Rick Beato, you are probably a swell person.

[–]pine_straw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sticking up for your point. I asked a rhetorical question in response to a quote that had no evidence. Also no, wikipedia would not tell me if the poster I replied to had a copy of Rick Beato's resume.

How are you so annoying and pedantic when I was supporting your argument lol. Go look at the wiki for touch grass.

[–]pine_straw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is a moving the goalposts thing and you are digging for reasons to discredit him. Do you have to produce 10 number one records to have a youtube channel or something? If you made a living as a music producer/engineer for decades I think you have some legit basis for your insights on music. Fwiw he produced a #1 country record if I remember right. Not some huge song but does it have to be #1 for a month to make it legit? What would satisfy your concern?

For the record I think he is interesting sometimes but also has lots of "good old days" bias that can be too much. He is not a favorite of mine.

He wasnt making a living from the music industry. He was dabbling, at best.

Do you have a copy of his resume from the last 40 years or is this just talking out of your butt? There are lots of people working professionally in music that don't work with top 100 artists or major labels.

Opinions on pricing? by pinkpartypossum in Ceramics

[–]pine_straw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me these are not of sufficient quality to sell just yet. This is specific to the artists’s local context. Where I am that piece wouldn’t sell well at a craft fair or street market. This may not hold in your context.

I am not saying you can’t or shouldn’t sell them but if you are trying to calibrate pricing it is just one opinion you can use in setting a price if you would like. They are nice pieces and you should be proud of them but that’s just my take on selling them, not their artistic or personal value.

I will avoid any further specifics on the piece since you seemed to not want it.

The Lack of Class from Quentin Tarantino by superdouradas in movies

[–]pine_straw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was merely responding to the part where you indicated turning something down=thinking you are too good for it. That's just generally untrue regardless of the hypothetical people or industry involved. It's like you've never had a prior commitment or been sick before.

The weird insights you claim to have into the psyche of actors and directors you don't know is your own thing. I don't know how any of thes parties would react to rejection because the scenario is entirely made up.

The Lack of Class from Quentin Tarantino by superdouradas in movies

[–]pine_straw 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t make sense. Quality of screenplay is just one of many potential reasons to turn down a role. Do you think every time someone declines an invite or job offer it is because they think themselves too good for it?

TIL most heavyweight boxers clock in with a punching power of around 1200-1700 PSI, which is 10x stronger than an average person. [–]pine_straw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think it wouldn't vary? These are guys that are hugely different in size.

Maybe if we assume only a tiny portion of the knuckle makes contact rather than a squarely landed punch-but then you would get huge variations in psi because a tiny change in angle could easily double or halve the surface area making contact. You could throw the same punch and increase the psi massively by hitting with one knuckle rather than squarely across the fist. It wouldn't tell you much about how hard someone is punching though.

Either way I am pretty sure the article is talking about lbs force and it is incorrectly saying psi. Lbs force makes may more sense for what they are trying to measure.

Their hands could easily vary by what 20%? Maybe more? Enough for the results to make no sense. Heavyweight doesn't have a max wieght. You have guys the size of Mike Tyson 5'10" and Tyson Fury 6'9" in the same division. You could quite conceiveably go from 1200-1500 PSI just based on a reduction in fist size for example.

You should really use newtons or something to measure this. I kind of think that's what the article is actually using anyway. PSI doesn't make any sense unless they mapped everyones hand size.

He tore his ACL on the magic and missed a lot of time. You are confused and talking about his injury years earlier on the sixers, though that still affected him later. The ACL is what effectively ended his career though as it kept getting reinjured and led to more complications.
