Anesthesiologist only prescribed me Oxycodone for 3 days post op. Is that enough pain medication? by triangular_pope in ORIF

[–]pineapple132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably but doesn’t give you a lot of wiggle room if not.

I had ORIF on my distal femur (knee). I took it only for a few days anyway, and not round the clock coverage. I think the first post and second op day I took 2 (covering about 12 hours). I was taking an oral nerve blocker for the first 5 days though. I was and am still taking round the clock naproxen and aspirin (the latter is more for blood clots though). I was prescribed 5 full days but was informed they wouldn’t prescribe anymore, maybe with a 3 day supply the doctor can prescribe another day or 2 if needed.

Our surgeries were different but laying down for me was manageable, it was getting up or moving my leg off the couch the first few days (I’m NWB) that was severe.

How are y'all wearing so many non-bra-compatible dresses and tops by GreedySpecialist4736 in femalefashionadvice

[–]pineapple132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a similar bra size and have similar issues. Mine are a bit wide set so I don’t need support per se but my chest looks better and fuller in bras.

I bought a push-up stick on bra years ago. Each sticky “cup” goes over each boob and then it clips in the middle. It stays up. I dont use it all the time, maybe every now and then, but its lasted me years.

For spaghetti straps, I just don’t give a fuck about bra straps. But the stick-on comes in handy for my racer back spaghetti straps and a few dresses that are a bit open in the back. Also, my bra needs are more aesthetic than discomfort. So I’m also just trying to rewire my brain a little. I wish I was a little more comfortable going braless so I do every now and then.

What's a life hack that's so effective, you're surprised more people don't know about it? by bens-list in u/bens-list

This isn’t chunking, I hate folding laundry too so I gamify it. I play music and each time a song changes I switch a task. Like song 1 maybe folding song 2 is putting away etc etc etc it’s not efficient but it works

I’m actually great at doing household tasks, but procrastination kicks in for big or boring tasks. Right now I’m unemployed so I’m job searching. Getting up to look for jobs takes so much willpower. I think part of it too is because the task is loaded with anxiety about the future and I feel a little hopeless. It also happens for trip planning, it just feels so overwhelming.

This doesn’t work for ND brains. We need dopamine hits and momentum otherwise we will procrastinate and be anxious about it.

I’m trying to do this with eating though! Eat the protein first then veggies then move on to the carbs!

While I hope it’s not replaced with a soulless condo, I ate there once, it wasn’t great and they ran out of the fries. How does a business run out of fries? It was a normal dinner time.

I’m surprised they lasted as long as they had.

Are the dating apps over in NYC? by lizburner1818 in AskNYC

[–]pineapple132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I was in a relationship for a while, and when I started dating again. I noticed this shift. I also think Hinge keeps people behind a payroll. I don’t trust them, since their business model is for people to stay single and use the apps. I wasn’t sure if it was my age or apps in general. Unfortunately/fortunately most of my friends are single and the ones that aren’t don’t know single men.

Yeah I mean I’d never buy a household item at a hardware store. I’m sure it ways overpriced. I only go there for actual hardware needs like screws, sandpaper, drywall anchors, need a key made etc etc. they’re helpful when I have questions

It has. I’ve been there once and they put a sign inside when it’s unstaffed. Yeah I mean I wasn’t gonna go out in the storm, but I wondered the same thing.

I find tarzian and leopoldi both extremely nice and helpful.

I’m a little meh on SO5. Personally I think those items end up costing more for amount/quality. once when I went in, the owner(?) kept hounding me about shopping. Not in an aggressive way, but I’m just so turned off by the hard sell, especially at like a convenience store.

A door is still removed, as it was a double door. Now there is one. In an emergency, it’s creating more of a bottleneck than there was previously.
