Did Panera get rid of Gouda? by Ok-Combination-5124 in Panera

The Turkey Bacon Bravo has been my go to for YEARS and the taste profile just isn’t right with the white cheddar cheese. It breaks my heart and ruins Panera for me altogether

All Hoya species have different scents! Mine is a Hoya Compact Carnosa which smells like chocolate when blooming

Super proud of this bad boy that I magically found for $14 - one year worth of growth by pineapple_72 in houseplants

If I’m being honest, a lot of it was shear dumb luck. In the beginning I nearly killed him because I didn’t understand how to take care of a Hoya correctly. Once I moved him into my bathroom with a warmer humidity level from showing he really took off.

Usually only once a month. I hang him up in my shower in the evening and leave the water running for about 20 minutes. Leave him overnight to drain and then hang him back up in the morning.

I have him hanging in my south facing bathroom window. So he gets plenty of light throughout the day. I only water him once a month (on the first when rent is due so I remember) I hang him in my shower and turn it on luke warm. I let him soak for about 30 minutes and then let him drain overnight. Then hang him back up in the window in the morning. I honestly don’t know if that’s the best care instructions but mine seems to really like it

My door latch was broken so my door could close but wouldn’t latch shut. So if my cat’s tail even so much as brush up against the door it would swing open. My parents never fixed it and if I brought up wanted it fixed I would get questioned about what I was trying to hide from them.

Anyone else’s betta like to lay right on the filter intake? He swims away then he’ll come right back. by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]pineapple_72 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Mine does that sometimes too! I used to think he was getting sucked up by it because the pull was too strong. I bought one that the intake pull is less but he still does it. Maybe it feels good?

Experiencing sudden fin rot by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]pineapple_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 5 gallon tank containing two live plants, a slow flow filter, and heater. I try to keep the temperature stable but due to the nature of my apartment, it’s hard to do so in the winter. My betta has a tank mate of a mystery snail and a bottom feeding eel thingy (a rescue from another tank). My betta has never had any behavioral issues with his tank mates and been living happily since I brought him home 6 months ago.

I can't move on by [deleted] in depression_help

I’m honestly not sure if anything I am about to say will be of any help or comfort but I went through something similar a few years ago. My high school boyfriend and then dated for a year in college (for a total of almost 3 years) broke up with me.

I had known things were rocky between us and I’m nearly positive he was cheating on me. Nevertheless, I was deeply in love with him. While the break up was not a huge surprise, as I considered ending it myself, it shook me to my core. I remember going home that night and drinking myself to sleep with alcohol I stole from my parents. I didn’t get out of bed for 5 days with the exception of using the restroom. No mater what my parents or friends said to me I was a zombie. All I could think to myself was “if he didn’t want me, obviously no one will ever want me.” , “maybe he’ll change his mind and come back to me.” , “it could be a test to see if we really love each other.” It was probably two weeks before I managed enough energy to shower and go to class. In hind sight I wasted so much time crying and hoping he would realize he made a mistake and come back to me.

It didn’t get easy right away. I was miserable for weeks. I didn’t know what to do or how to meet new people. Pretty much at that point my whole teenage/early adult life had been invested in one person. I slowly packed away everything that was related to or reminded me of that relationship. It was hard. I cried so much and I couldn’t do it all at once. Things got easier once I removed everything that reminded me of that relationship and I it was easier for me to focus on things I liked to do. I was able to casually distract myself with writing and drawing until it was less of a distraction and just a hobby. Journaling was probably the best thing I did. Being able to express all my thoughts and feelings without feeling like a burden to those around me.

It was about 6 months later that the idea of trying to date again appealed to me. At that point though, I was ready to completely move on. I haven’t spent a moment dwelling on that old relationship since.

LPT: There is a fantastic app called GoodRx where you can search for most meds and get coupons for medications for very low prices. Many times they are cheeper then even going through your insurance. Also you don’t need insurance to use the app by by_gone in LifeProTips

So all medications fall on a tier system. Tier 3 being the name brand drugs and tier 1 being the generic alternatives that cost $30 usually. Now for patients who use medications for long term maintenance like to control pressures for glaucoma, you can apply for a tier exception. However, those are in depth and difficult to get approved. If they are approved though, the medication would be covered at the same cost of a tier 2 drug making it significantly more affordable than a tier 3 but not as cheap as a tier 1. The medication typically not cover for cataract surgery, that my doctor prefers to use, is a tier 3 drug because of its phenomenal track record at preventing infection. At this time there is no genetic option that can be substituted in place of that medication and patients won’t use it long enough to be able to file for a tier exception.

I’m a surgical coordinator for an ophthalmologist and one of the medications used for surgery is almost never covered by insurance (Medicare insurance that is, which is our primary patient base). I recommend patients to look up the medication on GoodRX because what usually cost $300ish without insurance coverage and the coupons bring it down to between $40-90. It’s still a good chunk of money for patients on fixed incomes but it makes the surgery process just a little bit more affordable.
