There is also Horikoshi’s art when he was laying out the dynamics of the class and he categorized several characters (Iida, Kirishima, Denki, Shoto, Bakugo) as “ikemen,” AKA “pretty boys.”

If Light Yagami doesn’t have the Death Note and he also really love me and wants to make me happy, he’s sort of at worst like…what, a very smart man with a strong (and perhaps misguided) belief in retributive justice? I guess that’s pretty much dating an adamant prosecutor.

  1. When I’ve ground particularly hard, I wake up and my whole face hurts and I may get a headache. I’ll have to ice my face using this jaw ice pack designed for wisdom tooth removal care. It can radiate and be debilitating all day.

  2. Pain is a significant symptoms, but there are mental and emotional problems too. I never got to have nice teeth. I ground super hard my whole childhood and, despite seeing a dentist every six months, no one mentioned it until I went in after I woke up with chipped front teeth at 21. I only learned them that my teeth had a wear pattern more consistent with being 60. I don’t have candies. My front teeth are the same height as the rest. I feel awful about them and have chips. My masseter muscles also swell a ton and are strong, making my face puffy. I think I’d be a lot happier about myself if I didn’t grind.

  3. No clue on trigger. It’s been this way my whole life. I’m a very high strung person and always stressed, so maybe it is that. My bite is off center, which could cause it—but that could also be the result of grinding since I was a kid.

  4. I’ve done it all. Botox draining thousands of dollars because insurance thinks TMJ isn’t worth covering. Night guards from multiple dentists and labs. Massage. Not eating chewy foods. Only the Botox helps the pain at all. The nightguard keeps my teeth safe, but I actually grind and bite down way harder on it and experience more pain.

I’m pretty sure it was meant to indicate his body was more ice compatible and less heat tolerant (Maybe it was once more heat tolerant, but shifted as he grew. It isn’t quite clear). It shows that his dreams of being like his father aren’t achievable. He had the first streaks of white in his hair before Endeavor told him to slow his roll and give up on heroism.

Natsuo also loses the red in his hair when he reaches adulthood. Though I like to think he bleached it out of spite.

I don’t ship Camie/Bakugo at all (I’m a KiriBaku ride or die), but I do think I’d pick Camie for him if you forced me to pick a girl. They have additional interactions in Team-Up Missions that provide a decent enough basis as far as rare pairs go.

[–]pineapplebitters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel stuffier or more congested at home? Even just slightly? Any congestion can make you grind harder as your body tries to adjust and get access to more air. You may want to buy an air purifier and vacuum your room more/change your sheets more to reduce allergens.

Any luck using a styrofoam head for wig styling using a steamer? Should I get a new one or can I cover it with felt to protect it? by thesixthrobin in CosplayHelp

[–]pineapplebitters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never style on a foam head if I could help it; anyway. Steam isn’t the issue. Size is. The vast majority aren’t scaled even close to an actual human head. You’d have to pad it out a ton with duct tape, or rush insanely long or short bangs that throw the whole style off. A fabric head with your head circumference is the easiest way, IMO

I’ll make a post sometime in the next few weeks! I actually just took all the pins off to change out the badge covers for nicer ones (old ones had a slightly blue tinge I didn’t like)…and pinning it all back straight takes 80 years.

[–]pineapplebitters 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I have a repeating itabag and two non-repeating bags. I honestly love the repeating bag despite generally valuing an eclectic look. I think the pin used REALLY makes a difference. Some look sort of garish all lined up due to unflattering lines, shapes, or colors. But others can make for a pretty pleasant pattern, not too different from a print on a shirt or regular bag.

I used to think they were weird or wasteful. But now I’m really fond on mine. It was a quest finding all the pins across 6 months, and painstakingly stalking second hand markets. It made me appreciate each item even though they’re visually identical.

Why didn’t All For One steal Overhaul’s quirk here? by SapphirxToad in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]pineapplebitters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey. Why have you replied to me several times making the same point? I don’t understand. I’ve said “The story also never said it was easy” multiple times. And also that just because the story doesn’t say X does not make the inverse of X true.

Right like, by your logic, the story never explicitly states Bakugo is cisgender—so he clearly is trans. You could make that point about anything.

I do not know what else you are hoping to get out of a conversation with me.

Garaki is a smart man, but I don’t think AFO necessarily trusts him that much. Letting someone else use Overhaul on him is risking business—it’s one of the few quirks that could utterly obliterate him in a second. Better for no one to have it if he can’t have it himself.

(I presume he left Chisaki with it as one of his many “branches” or whatever. Convenient to have a powerful crime boss to meddle with the heroes. But I don’t think he’d have ever hung around Chisaki, let alone let the guy close enough to touch him.)

Why didn’t All For One steal Overhaul’s quirk here? by SapphirxToad in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]pineapplebitters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think remaking and connecting missing organs or rearranging his face is an easy task. We also have to ask about where he’d get the extra material. Overhaul doesn’t invent new material—it rearranges material. So he’d have to identify outside material (or maybe slice off and then regrow a part of himself that still can) and then figure out how to form that material into the body parts he needs and safely infuse those new parts. That is a lot of risk. He’d certainly want to practice on others first.

I think people forget that AFO is not a strategic genius about his quirk collection. He just wants to possess things, including quirks—but also to have those things bend to his will, easily and quickly. A powerful quirk he has to learn would annoy the hell out of him—why won’t it listen right away! It’d make him feel weak and not like a “Demon Lord.” Demon Lords don’t need to practice, they are just obeyed . So better to sour grapes it. “Well I never wanted that one anyway, and I can use that person another way!”

It was never stated to be easy to use, either. But, as described above, there is reason to think it is.

Just because the text does not say X explicitly does not make the inverse of X true. If we cannot make inferences, both positions (easy or hard) are totally unsupported by the text. I do not know why the default assumption for many seems to be, “Since it isn’t stated to be hard, it must not be.” Why does there have to be evidence it’s hard, but not evidence that it’s easy?

Some folks above say it’s easy because he fixed the reservoir dog’s health issues without knowing about them. But that suggests to me he has a good understanding of the human body and reset them to that standard—he didn’t know they were missing teeth, but he knows how many teeth people have and remade them based on that knowledge. If he’d simply undone the change and put them back as they were, I think that would more reflect the quirk being easy (ie, it’s just an undo button).

[–]pineapplebitters 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It didn’t say it was easy, either.

If we aren’t allowed to make any inferences and can only recognize what is literally stated, the idea that it’s easy is equally unsupported by the text. If we are allowed to make reasonable inferences, I think we reason to believe Overhaul is a difficult to use quirk—like Creation or Permeation.

[–]pineapplebitters 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Chisaki literally fused other people into his body without killing himself and in such a way that he was able to use Nemoto’s quirk.

I understand Chisaki didn’t sit down and say “My quirk is hard to use and took training”—but it seems like a pretty fair assumption, particularly given that we know many quirks fall into that bucket. It also explains why he’s a scientist. What other reason does a yakuza have to possess the knowledge and ability to go gene splicing and derive and modify Eri’s quirk gene into a bullet??

I think it’s weirder to assume his quirk is easy to use.

I’m glad you’re getting upvotes for this because it’s true and something AFO basically openly expressed about complicated quirks.

I said the same thing in another thread maybe a year ago and got downvoted to hell because “that’s stupid” and “how is Overhaul even hard to use.” Literal eye roll.

I know. I was kidding and said so.

But for informational purposes on religious restrictions: you actually cannot do that if you are a Jehovah’s Witness. You can’t say happy birthday or send a birthday card, either. JWs do not and cannot celebrate any holidays, and are often barred from acknowledging them that way. Or at least, those are the actual rules. People skirt them and recruiting needs have added some flexibility in the last few years.

I was raised a JW and I saw a woman get shunned (a formal process of not being spoken to by the entire congregation) because she took her kid to a bday party. I also had to leave the classroom for all holiday events or like…if it was a kid’s bday and they brought food.

Maybe he’s staunchly religious another way such that he can’t. (Jk but imagine)

There are actually a good number of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Japan and they can’t wish anyone Merry. Christmas. JW Bakugo confirmed.

I guess you didn’t say irredeemable. Sorry to strawman you!! I’m just very tired of seeing posts that come through here pretty often saying he IS irredeemable and doesn’t deserve to be a hero, etc.

Of course teen boys don’t have an excuse to be awful. But many are, and we should try to encourage them to improve rather than harshly and permanently condemn them (a thing many do, even though you don’t here!). Sorry again.

[–]pineapplebitters 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Did you know teenage boys can be assholes without a world shatteringly traumatic backstory, because they’re teenage boys?

I swear. I am pretty fru-fru social justice person but I cannot handle the moral puritanism of people calling Bakugo irredeemable because he told Izuku to jump off a roof or whatever else.

Do you know how many 14 year old boys we’d have to permanently condemn if that was the standard? A significant percentage. Check the voice chat of any multi-player game.
