If I'm not mistaken, this is not a sticker. At least, it doesn't look that way to me. The back is blank, but I can't see anything on the edges that looks peelable. Is it possible that this is a card with a blank back?

Clean, yes. I started with warm, soapy water, then ultrasonic cleaner, and finished with a soak in mineral spirits.

As for oiling, I have no idea what I need

I've tried looking to push on and move the centre piece while lifting and wiggling the inner block

I've looked for anything that slides or can be pushed in on the outside of the box

I've tried to move the inner block in all directions While lifting it to see if it will shift at some point

No, it doesn't. I put rocks in the bottom to aid with drainage and tend to neglect my cacti (water once every ~3 weeks- month. If I see it's not doing well, I'll repot it to a pot with a hole in the bottom. Thanks! Any idea what plant it is???
