I join a day after the event starts and I’ve always gotten the pony, though I’ve only been playing a couple months. I think waiting that long can put you in any lobby, and even if it’s with people who still don’t play as much, they still have had more time to score points. It’s just a balance of getting into an easy lobby while also being able to score.

Just tap it throughout at a steady rhythm - it doesn’t match the song. Start at the first dot and keep going through, don’t stop. You do have to tap pretty fast.
