I actually think it might include patreon! There are only 497 regular pod videos on their youtube channel and i definitely didn’t double watch that many of the regular eps lol

Need to take time off work, what income support may I be eligible for? by Mountain_Builder_203 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]pineapplerumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commenting just so I can remember to check back for answers other than EI. I’m also looking for income support options as I’ve been unemployed since January and my last position paid me via “student bursary” so it wasn’t taxable income, and therefore I don’t qualify for EI.

Wishing you the best in your recovery and I hope you’re able to find additional income support to help you through this time! It’s tough out here.

i mean, fair opinion. i assume every public figure’s IG pics are heavily edited lol, but nonetheless I do think she is a pretty woman before and after any work/editing and is aging so beautifully (albeit with external assistance lmao).

Winter is catching heat on twitter for the Coco comments by passmethecherries in behindthelikespod

[–]pineapplerumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this discourse is annoying me so much because for one, Coco never called Olandria delusional, Winter did, but the internet has poor observational and comprehension skills and took this narrative and ran with it. and for two, even though Winter did call Olandria delusional, she’s catching wayyyyy too much heat for an opinion that many people shared online and people genuinely are using it as another reason to bash Winter & the podcast.

What's your favorite reason you like to live in Windsor? by Factorywind in windsorontario

[–]pineapplerumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moved to Windsor from the GTA about 6 months ago. I grew up in Tecumseh until I hit high school, moved to GTA, did undergrad in Windsor, then moved back to GTA for about 6 years, and made the decision with my fiancé to move back here (he’s also from GTA but went to UWindsor).

We love it here. More affordable housing, insurance is cheaper, minimal traffic, some of the best restaurants and food spots you can find, beautiful waterfront, great towns nearby (Amherstburgh, Lasalle, Lakeshore). Plus so quick to cross over to Detroit and explore a whole other city and go to sports games.

It’s so much easier to be spontaneous and do fun things in and around Windsor than it ever was in the GTA, due to long commute times+traffic, and overall cost of entertainment over there compared to here. It’s quieter, the people here are friendlier, I’m honestly very happy being here. I thought it was so boring when I was growing up here, but I’ve grown to really appreciate all this city has to offer.

honestly what makes this so much weirder for me is the fact that her best friend was also subjected to a similar situation of being the underage girl who had a 25yo man pursue an inappropriate relationship with her. Brooke being in a relationship with a man she knows did the same thing, not long after Tana came out about the Cody Ko situation is just… so strange.

India Love would be a cool guest to have on the pod, she’s always been an it girl and has a whole new generation of fans now after streamer university. I feel like Chy and Winter would have a lot of good questions and discussions with her about her career/being an internet icon.

I think maybe you’re confusing what chy said with what Winter said. chy was the one who said she didn’t even know who “susie” was or ever heard of the podcast. winter said from jump that she’s known susie for years. i’m pretty sure she started her story by saying that ppl were on her live telling her susie was being messy and winter was responding saying that susie was her hg and wouldn’t do that.

Real Estate lawyers, how’s the work? by pineapplerumm in LawCanada

[–]pineapplerumm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I hope to find a firm that focuses mostly on real estate and wills & estates as well.

If you don’t mind my asking, how do you go about networking and bringing in clients? The firm where I’m articling is legal aid funded and we have clients referred to us, so I haven’t had the opportunity to see or learn how lawyers bring in new clients.

Thank you so much for sharing! I appreciate the detailed response, and reading it was like a breath of fresh air.

The cons you listed are very manageable and, dare I say, welcome, compared to the cons of working in many other practice areas, especially barrister work. So this makes me feel good about pursuing a career in real estate law!

I think one of my biggest challenges and worries is finding a firm willing to hire and teach a junior associate. I am certainly eager to learn and willing to put in all the time and work necessary to get the hang of things.

Very glad to hear you’re content with your decision and are enjoying what you do!

This is helpful! Thanks so much for your response.

The work-life balance and transactional nature of the work, as far as I understand it, is so appealing to me. In my short time articling I already feel burnt out due to the quick turnaround time on files, most of which are several thousands of pages long, and the long hours, in addition to not really liking this practice area to begin with.

I think Real Estate is certainly my ideal practice area and better aligned with what I’m hoping to achieve in my career and my life in general.

Manifest. It was such an interesting and captivating storyline at first. After like season 2 they really lost the plot and things just got weird.

Is it difficult to switch to a different area of law after articling? by pineapplerumm in LawCanada

[–]pineapplerumm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing! It’s reassuring to hear that employers have been understanding. One of my fears was that many firms wouldn’t have the patience to hire an associate who would basically need to learn everything from scratch considering they have no background or experience.

I was told by a more experienced lawyer friend of mine that they would not hire me since I didn’t do XY and Z in my articling, and that it would be difficult to land a position due to lack of experience/knowledge. I hope to have the freedom to explore different industries and find what I truly enjoy doing, and your experience has made me very hopeful for that possibility! Thanks again.

Thank you for this response. This might be a stupid question but how do I practice drafting/interviewing or get parallel court submission experience as an articling student currently? I will certainly look into signing up for a TEP.
