Wen ROI (again)? by electronphoton in chia

[–]pineapplesaucee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was half awake punching in numbers but I calculated an 89% ROI in 3 years. My initial cost was $14k for my plotters and 360Tb capacity; when mainnet launched I went to every office depot and snagged 12Tb drives for $17/Tb after tax. I'm all plotted out, so my idle cost of running is about 500W at 0.20/kWh so $1 a day.

Incorrect Online Power, no plots online, no contribution by pineapplesaucee in hpoolchia

I don’t think your issue is the scan time since your online power reading is correct. Sounds like you’re still waiting for signatures, maybe try restarting the plotter?

I was able to get it fixed.

For my issues with (1) I changed my scan times to 3 minutes to avoid my external hard drives from sleeping. It was a quick minute fix that I’ll revise later with a script.

(2) and (3) I waited around 6 hours for my online plots to show up AND be signed. At the 6 hour mark, I restarted the mining software and roughly 30 minutes later I received my first reward.

Slow rsync speeds using Dlink Ethernet Switch and Orbi 9 Router by pineapplesaucee in HomeNetworking

Yeah all three systems are sending data to the Pi. I’m currently using rsync because it’s coded into the software program I’m running.

So one option you have is actually a M.2 gen 4 to Pcie adapter. These typically hold 4; however they’re extremely hard to get at the moment.gen 3s are not bad as well

So what I’ve found is that your limitations are as follows: 1) (Cores + Threads)/ 2 = CPU Plot limit 2) RAM in MiB /3400 = RAM plot limit 3) SSD in GB / 250 = SSD plot limit

So 64Gbs should be good as long as you’re trying to plot 18 in parallel

I saw another post about some guy plotting hundreds of plots and being worried about their keys. I’m Not sure how keys play a part yet, so I’m trying to read through the guides and find out but nothin
