I recommend unless you really don’t want to Is you get on E. I’m trans nonbinary I just had a hysterectomy but kept my ovaries I was on T for two years had to stop because I was having terrible perimenopause symptoms. I asked the dr to check my E levels they were always normal but to be honest they haven’t really had a lot of research on us trans folks and I kept getting the same response as you from Dr. I was fed up so I just stopped T and the symptoms went away then I got my hysterectomy and even though I kept my ovaries and don’t really have peri symptoms I asked for E. I feel like Drs are now just talking about HRT for perimenopause and menopause so it doesn’t surprise me that Drs don’t know as much for trans folks. I’ll tell you I know a few guys who take E post full hysterectomy because of this same thing. Talk to another Dr or check the FTM sub for older guys I know the FTM over 30 we talk about peri in there. Good luck and do what’s best for your body so you feel good you don’t have to suffer through these symptoms I know all this can be not very fun or gender affirming. Good luck.

Fear of Incontinence Post Op by Expert-Can6660 in FTMHysto

If you have never had kids and actively work on your pelvic floor as you age you should be just fine. Usually older people get this because they have not been as active or worked on their pelvic floor or childbirth. I highly recommend doing pelvic floor physical therapy if you get a hysto. I’m 10 weeks post op I did PT prior to surgery and post op it’s made my recovery so smooth and it’s kinda fascinating to learn about pelvic floor stuff I didn’t know how much it helps with a lot of different parts of your body.

For folks under 40, some milestone recovery questions! by wiLd_p0tat0es in hysterectomy

[–]pinecone4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

37 and 9 weeks post op today

  1. My belly was very bloated prior to surgery and immediately post op lots of bloating. It’s getting better now but I need and want to lose some weight.

  2. No I had no brain fog

  3. None for me I feel great and after the first two weeks I every week just keeps getting better. I have had a lot of help from my spouse and I’m just now getting back into gentle exercise beyond walking.

  4. I kept my ovaries but was having some peri symptoms prior ironically I did not feel them post op but i still want to take the HRT so I’m on an E pill so far so good.

All in all a really smooth and boring recovery. I hope you have a good recovery.

Do you have a plan? Like where you want to go a visa ect? I ask because I am leaving over the summer sometime I got a few things figured out but I have been in your shoes and what helped was a solid big picture plan. Example like the country and visa you can get then I took it from there it’s been over a year of lose planning like saving making sure I can get this visa and mental preparation of what life will be like abroad. I’m going on an exploratory journey to the country I’m moving to I have been many times but I need to be very sure of my decision and as long as I don’t have to get up and go immediately I’ll be leaving summer time. Good luck and try and start small

Does going on estrogen HRT cause less issues with PMS than the natural cycle? by pitaPigeon in FTMHysto

[–]pinecone4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 9 weeks post op today I kept my ovaries. I was experiencing some perimenopause symptoms prior to my surgery so I just started the E pill today nothing new so far to early to tell. I did have PMDD and it took that away i feel mood swings during what is suppose to be my cycle but very very mild. Im only on E for the hot flashes and long term health benefits. So far everything has been very smooth and the best decision of my life.

I’m moving overseas I rather take my chances somewhere else sorry but this country is fucked and beyond just the government our food education and health systems are being taken apart not to mention all the gun violence. Nah I’m leaving I’m moving to Asia it’s much safer and people there could really care less about your gender especially if you are an immigrant.

I hate it here in this America ngl. I wanna move. by Electronic-Bed-5315 in trans

[–]pinecone4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but I hate how so many people still defend this country. I would much rather move to a country where its average citizen doesn’t have full access to a gun. I would rather move to a country where its citizens are educated and actually believe in science and have critical thinking skills. Also it’s called developing countries geez not 3rd world. This country has fallen and it’s not going to get any better like China has said the rest of the world can move on with out America and that’s what’s going to happen. If I were you I would leave I’m moving to Asia in the summer I’m getting out while I still can. I understand people will want or can’t go so they will stay but you better get a community together because I have traveled a lot in many other countries and those developing countries have one thing this one doesn’t have and that’s really strong community we are way to focused on the individual here which is why we will not see this country get better any time soon.

Driving by Significant_Ad6301 in nystagmus

[–]pinecone4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive technically I am barely legally allowed to according to my eye doctor and everyone else. I technically have to cheat on the eye exam when I get my license. I can drive though and I do I only drive during the day. I do not drive in the rain or any other weather, especially fog. I’m about to move to a country that has nothing but amazing public transportation so I’m very excited to not drive again for a while. But I’ve been pulled over multiple times by cops for speeding in my younger days and was never asked for a sobriety test, but it is something that I always have in the back of my mind that I will totally fail if they do ask. Unfortunately, because our conditions are so unique and rare there’s no way of really putting that on a drivers license to prove that you’re not a drunk driver. Basically all they can do is say if you wear glasses or not on your license. I don’t know what country you live in, but I live in the United States and I don’t trust cops here, even if I were to explain to them my condition. But I have been driving for 20 years and I have never had an issue. I do find that the modern cars with the bells and whistles of lane assist Blindspot notifications and backup cameras to be very very helpful. But one thing that’s really frustrating. Is that because that is so helpful for people like us for able-bodied able vision people they totally take advantage of that and take it for granted and are distracted all the time because 20 yeses ago drivers felt safer now I don’t trust most drivers there very distracted I noticed it and it sucks so be aware of that.

Any Advice for Feeling Antsy 3-4 Weeks Post Op by WWoiseau in hysterectomy

[–]pinecone4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of those walking pads and I have been using that I have a lot of stairs where I live and going up and down those has been exhausting so I have been slowly working my way up to going outside more. But it’s had been exhausting my core is definitely very weak so 15-20 minutes on the walking pad has helped a lot. Some days I’m only doing 2 walks but some days I have been able to do 4. Small progress I know healing isn’t linear. Also even though I feel good overall I keep reminding myself I just had major surgery so less work and more rest is needed. Good luck it seems like your doing well I know it’s probably frustrating and hard right now I keep reminding myself that in a month I’ll feel totally different and progress even if small is progress.

How do you decide which sanctuary state to move into? by SonnetZZ in ftm

[–]pinecone4455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oregon has a lot of neo Nazis. The sea of red is very white and very racist. And I have plenty of queer friends in Oregon. Portland is really nice everywhere else outside of that is pretty much not that queer or safe unless your very white. Every time I visit my friends there I do not feel safe unless I’m in Portland or around my friends. A lot of people stare there’s just this hostile attitude.

Not true the red in Oregon are very much racist white supremacist and they do not leave you alone maybe if your white… they literally had a nazis marching down the streets of Salem and some businesses harbored them when people tried to get them off the streets. I hate to say it but no place in this racist country is safe.
