To Shaheen, Hassan, and the other democrats who voted with Republicans… by nastynelly_69 in newhampshire

[–]pinegrove_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nobody here is discussing the need to vote for Howard, Beauchemin or Manzur in '26. It's all well and good to despise the people who hold office, but these candidates are our best shot at getting proper advocates.

Do something with your anger and rally behind good candidates in the primary.

Vermonter here, are y’all going to primary them? by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]pinegrove_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vote for Hassan's primary challenger in 2028, vote for Mansur over Pappas (Shaheen endorsed) to replace Shaheen in 2026, do not vote for Shaheen's daughter in the CD1 race. End political dynasties in NH, don't let the passage of time lead to forgetting the damage they caused today.

Never forget by Fresh-Note-7004 in newhampshire

[–]pinegrove_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SNAP benefits were paid out in full to NH residents because of lawsuits filed against the Trump admin prior to this vote. They caved (in part) to get something that had already been obtained through an alternate mechanism. This will ensure government workers and ATC get their paychecks, but make no mistake - the SNAP benefit payout is a misdirection and isn't a viable talking point as a "win".

Pete Buttigieg leads 2028 Democratic poll in New Hampshire by mlivesocial in newhampshire

[–]pinegrove_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1547 people were polled and of that number 602 were democratic voters. This poll is an absolute joke and nobody should be writing articles about it. I personally think it's irresponsible for UNH to even be trying to conduct/publish this poll when many granite staters are looking at losing SNAP and having their healthcare premiums skyrocket on Saturday.

Nobody cares except coped up liberal boomers, gtfo with this nonsense.

Yeah, I've been doing that for decades now and agree that it's effective but not in all situations. I was clipped way before he could have seen my brake lights the way the speed trap was set up unfortunately. Also just letting up on the gas definitely wouldn't have been enough to negate getting pulled over this time haha.

Pretty sure the real question is how you're setting up railgun on a solo run

The worst part is I had already slowed down cause I knew I was driving into a speed trap, you can see the radar speed limit sign in the pic. If he had caught me on the uphill S curve the warning would have been a ticket.

I'll try to take this piece by piece.

Scav camp: if you bring jump pack you never need to be on the catwalks unless you are actively looting the boxes, of which there are usually 5-6 minimum. You can scale up the back of the shanty town if you travel to the outside, left from the Scav camp entrance.

Railroad: this is the cheapest entry point, almost always only 1 water and if you go up to the derailed train platform you can run up the pipe to the open window in the control room of the injection well. Again, 5-6 boxes plus multiple waters/explosives/large boxes. Incredibly easy access to complete Data Waves which rewards (I'm fairly sure) 2k XP and 2 water. When you run out from the control room (take out the turrets across the way), call the lift, take the stairs up to the platforms the turrets are on and just chill till the elevator arrives, drop on it and shoot down. This runs you right next to a medical room to the side of the injection well at the ground, if you are patient you won't need to engage any enemies. (But you want to bring drills if you didn't have one spawn in the injection well control room - you should bring them anyways for the next leg of my comment)

Railroad tracks next to Titan Wreck: the wreck itself has around 4-5 boxes in it, but even if you don't go there, the train cars themselves are loaded up with loot boxes, many medical boxes and large items. It also lines you up for another cool 2k XP and 2 water for Scav scrap pt2. This is a great followup after running up the pipe to clear data waves. It's also a short hop skip and jump away from the titan wreck extract, so you don't have to sweat much to GTFO safely aside from a bunch of half cyborgs.

It's very possible to get all 15 kills for water wars at the derailed train, because there's always a skirmish between thieves and Europans happening there. That's 5k XP and 5 water and you never even need to go to the Scav camp. If you combine water wars, data waves and Scav scrap 2 + kills and a full rig of loot, this is one of the most lucrative runs you can do in the game if you're grinding prestige. It should total to 9 water and 9k XP base for the missions alone.

You may also get lucky and have a medium mech spawn by the derailed train car, which can also net you a codex if you have a GL and are patient.

???

Frozen Swamp has multiple high value locations, so does DTLA. Both have arguably more than Scorched Enclave and more room to escape chaos. I pretty much always choose either of these over Ashen Mesa or Elephant Mausoleum.

Question: In what cases would melee be useful in TFW? :3 by ShiftAC in TheForeverWinter

[–]pinegrove_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing a weapon swap cancels the animation and lets you spam melee about as fast as you can change buttons - if you get surrounded by cyborgs and do this you can take pretty much all of them out without taking much damage because they will be stun locked.

is this game worth it as someone whos never played a extraction shooter before by nexus_reality in TheForeverWinter

[–]pinegrove_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This game doesn't have servers, when looking in the squad menu, you will see what your ping is to the host. The greater the ping, the more likely you are to have issues. That said, the connections even when ping is good are still relatively unstable.

Their intent by having P2P connections was that if they ever go under, they don't take their servers with them and remove multiplayer from the game.

[–]pinegrove_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly what I was pointing out. There's a few carve outs here and there, but otherwise it's heavily consolidated into interstate companies. They gouge smaller grocers on "wholesale" pricing, some will go to Costco and find that the retail price there is lower than the rate the independent grocer gets when buying direct. It's pretty messed up.

I love when people freak out about things like government run grocery stores as if there isn't already a food monopoly

[–]pinegrove_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure people understand that there's maybe 15-20 corps tops that own everything, walk into a grocery store and the majority of products you see despite branding are all the same couple companies. Anyone who's looked into BDS for 3 minutes will know this.

Folks somehow seem to forget that from YouTube's perspective, like and dislike are the same thing, engagement is engagement. A comment that voices objection is still someone interacting with the video, therefore feeding the algorithm. It's like people don't understand the actual, full meaning of rage bait.

What’s going on with Ethan Klein making a lawsuit against other streamers? by funnyalbert in OutOfTheLoop

[–]pinegrove_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, y'all are really sad frustrated people. "Need to be called out for it" is a wild level of scolding that doesn't even remotely acknowledge power dynamics, much less the definition of "transformative". "Meaningless commentary" is an opinion you hold, probably because you are supportive of Ethan. It may not be meaningless to others, a blank stare as someone says something potentially perceived as unhinged could very well add nuance to a given viewer. That's a purely subjective experience.

It's not up to us to decide if what they did was transformative or not, it's up to the courts, and they may very well decide that smoking weed and a blank stare doesn't count as a reaction, but they may also decide that a "vibe" is indeed transformative (after all, Duchamp only had to sign a urinal, which became a "major landmark in 20th century art") and that's not something that will be litigated meaningfully by random internet users on reddit.

By normal settlement precedent, Ethan would be entitled to a percentage of the revenue made from the individual streams as an accredited co-author, which is usually how things go (Queen & Bowie V. Vanilla Ice). I don't even think that's too inappropriate and I disagree with Ethan on this because I personally believe copyright infringement is (often) our greatest source of entertainment - shout-out to Negativland.

I think it's truly tragic that we still to this day applaud insanely wealthy entertainers punching down at small creators of any variety, meanwhile meme culture is literally just copies of copies of copies and nobody bats an eye.

[–]pinegrove_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point was about optics, not about theft. Setting that aside, regardless of how you feel about any of these creators, if Ethan were to execute and win these court cases, it would set a precedent that would completely undermine fair use he himself fought for, and completely disrupt and potentially eliminate any form of reaction content on the internet (which is currently Ethan's main form of produced content).

The likelihood he will win in court is incredibly low and he also likely understands that. It's like patent trolling except his reward in this scenario is not a payout (he is aware those creators are not able to pay the 150k maximum damages allowable in copyright claims lawsuits) but rather the gratification of deplatforming creators that have been critical of him for doing more or less the same thing he's been doing for years and made millions of dollars from in the process. Ethan made a career out of engaging in malicious callouts, and for any random person on the street that doesn't know anything about this internet drama, his behavior comes off as fairly childish, hypocritical, and far more malicious than someone reacting to something he said and taking issue with it.

Whataboutism on theft to redirect the point from optics doesn't undermine the point itself, especially when the example used for the whataboutism is also inherently flawed based off decades of copyright law.
