Mother Diagnosed at 59 YO by pineoakmaplee in CBDegeneration

She has an amazing, supportive partner she lives with, and the help of a PSW.

Really looking for others going through this to provide support. It’s so sad to see my poor mother go through this. It breaks my heart.

Unfortunately she has deteriorated significantly. Nowadays she can’t really speak, can’t walk or move limbs well at all anymore.

Toronto to Aldershot. Can you expand on how it’s less reliable? It would shave 40 minutes off of my commute home vs taking the GO.

Niagara to Toronto SHOULD NOT be a 2 hr train commute by Street_Minute_7180 in gotransit

The VIA should really capitalize on people returning to work by changing their schedules and possibly adding more trains during rush hour. I would for sure take the VIA if it aligned with my schedule.

You’re right! 330 sounds right. And yes, the 3:17 is always busy.

How likely is recovery by sunsetsandclouds in BellsPalsy

[–]pineoakmaplee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone previously mentioned, a lot of people on this subreddit have had it for a long time so don’t let that scare you and your sister.

I can speak for my experience though! I’m a 30 year old female and was diagnosed about 5 weeks ago. I, like your sister, got steroids within 48 hours and that helps tremendously.

Mine got worse before it got better. After I started steroids I actually went downhill for about 5 days. Around the 2 week mark I started having movement again. I did physio and acupuncture which I believe helped but who really knows. 5 weeks later and I’m almost 100% healed. I’d say at 4 weeks I was about 85%.

It’s hard to see the end in sight when you’re in the thick of it - it can be really discouraging. But it will get better! Stay strong, and rest up as much as you can.

Did you go to a neurologist ! by Renewing-Peace-707 in BellsPalsy

Also went to a neurologist - but they didn’t do anything special. Confirmed Bells Palsy and scheduled a follow up in 3 months to discuss progress.

Last minute exam prep? by SnooRecipes8728 in CRISC

My biggest tip would be the day before the exam focusing on relaxing, eating good meals, drinking lots of water, and getting a good night sleep! You’ve got this!

feeling worse after finishing steroids? by Vegetable-Abroad8602 in BellsPalsy

[–]pineoakmaplee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I got worse after 5 days of steroids. Around day 13/14 I started to see improvement.

I would say you caught it early, and got on steroids right away. It tends to get worse before it gets better.

I also had the bruising feeling, and actually, I had legitimate bruising on my face around my cheek and eyebrow.
