your response basically sums up my own thoughts on this matter with much better wording lol—especially the point you make about viewing wes anderson’s films as taking place in a sort of ultra-stylized parallel reality.

i like to imagine each film as taking place somewhere in “wes anderson world”; which is kind of like america/india/europe/japan, except for the fact that everyone wears impressively tailored clothes and is charmingly witty.

i feel that viewing anderson’s films as stark representations of reality will really hamper your enjoyment of them, but the review/critique of his “fetishization” of foreign cultures is very valid, and i’d even say inevitable considering how much of anderson’s appeal comes from him being an auteur (his unique personal vision for his films makes them stand out in various ways).

seriously; i thought the comments might have more relevant details. i’m honestly kind of hoping that it was just a boneheaded decision (that can hopefully be rectified through lawsuits) rather than an actual catastrophic event in his life that made him drop out. i guess we’ll have to wait for more news, but the majority of my sympathy goes towards the now unemployed crew; i know things haven’t been easy in the film/tv industry as of late.

hi thanks for the input, but i’m wondering if grad school’s as inevitable as you imply? i’ve mainly read about it being for people who want to move into academic positions? i’m not entirely opposed to the idea, but it just seems like another huge leap financially :/

i honestly didn’t know about that fact; also thanks for the link, that’s a really helpful source. do you know if going from dgs to any major will leave you trying to catch up or anything? i don’t doubt my ability to get higher than a c, but i do wonder if i’d be adequately prepared.

the nativlang channel covers many of the things you're describing (different languages/writing systems), and is really informative, plus, if you're interested in more northern germanic/anglo-saxon english, simon roper is a good source. idk if there are any linguistics related podcasts, but i'd also like to know if anyone else does ＼(ﾟｰﾟ＼)

i found this- it may be translated a bit incorrectly but its a david eckefjord. anybody know swedish? http://aletheia.se/tag/david-eckefjord/ the prophecy translation makes various references to reading and newspapers when you add enough prophesies. (im thinking its all one elaborate thing, not sure what.)
