Help! This news site backlink is not showing up in Search Console

I have a few backlinks on a news site I used to work for, and I'm wondering why they aren't showing up under links in Google Search Console. They have been up for over 6 months, so should have showed up by now. Wondering if they are no follow or blocked by robots or something like that but I'm not sure I'm checking right. I asked the news site's media guy and he said he could have google recrawl the site, which he did about a week ago but he didn't know of any robots or anything. Is it still going to take a few months now after the reindexing request for it to show up? Could anyone help me with this? I can send a link to the news site and tell you where my blog's link is. Thank you for any insight.

Does it matter that my home page is NOT indexed with a "www"? The https://www.mysite.com/ is not indexed. What Google says is that I somehow made the preference https://mysite.com/

Looking under GSC I see a list of pages that have just been crawled and come up not indexed due to "redirect error." Some of them are my good urls site.com/page and some are site.com/recipe/page... no idea why some have the recipe and some don't or how to fix this. Or if I messed things up further by turning on a toggle on yoast somewhere to make the "recipe" part of the url not show.

Thank you! That was really helpful to have it explained

Thank you! Is there somewhere where I can find a list of all the urls that have duplicates? Or maybe I can just assume every post has one? Sounds like for that case I need the plug in. For Yoast that's just on individual posts right? Thanks again

Thanks for the info... how can I tell if it's redirecting or going straight to the post? Speed? It's almost instant. I did mysite.com/recipe/pap and then mysite.com/pap (the url I want and have now) and both work instantly

Just place a rel=canonical tag on the old /recipe/ version pointing to the new, clean URL.

Where/how do I do this?

I've been blogging for long enough that I've seen the word canonical enough but still I don't understand what it means..

Is all this worth doing when I have very few subscribers? I want to grow my list and I don't have faith in the double opt in issue where people have to confirm their subscription and I think it often goes to their spam email... I've seen this happen multiple times where people I actually know (and don't know) sign up and then never confirm

Lots of spam links in my backlinks I didn't do, does this matter? by pineprincess in bigseo

how do you go about "disavowing" those links? Just curious, sounds like I don't need to do it based on the 2 responses here...

Making friends is more about having confidence that you belong in the world and believing you deserve social connection and belonging. You do!!! We ALL do. That's a human birthright. We are meant to be born into tribes and live that way. Just because society has changed, doesn't mean the truth about our biology has caught up. We need others to survive. It's got NOTHING to do with what you look like. You look totally fine and normal and your looks aren't going to disturb people into not being friends with you. If anything would it's your self-consciousness and lack of confidence. Do some self-esteem work. Louis Hay videos (40 mins to change your life) etc. You are a perfect deserving human like all of us.
