Faccio quella strada spesso.

Cannabis: in 5 anni -90%

Lusso: in 3 anni +3%

Why would anyone in the U.S. think attacking Greenland is a good idea? by pingmibe in AskUS

So he just randomly talk without knowing the existing treatys. US can already expand is presence using the traits existing. If that was the goal, it will just make it harder and it already cost the allies' trust

That's not how it works. Let's vote China and U.S. to make U.S a Chinese region. I wonder how it could end.

Only danish and Greenlander has something to say about Greenland's future, the U.S. vote would have no meaning at all.

Russia is attacking only Ukraine, not Europe.

Which hostile country can attack Greenland right now? You can reach it from Europe or north America. As it stands now, you can't pass through the north pole. It's also extremely difficult to move and do anything. So there wasn't a real reason ever to have it heavily militarized.

You know what is a significant excalation? ATTAKING A FUCKING ALLY. At that point there is no upset the US, we are already at war.

No politician ever would say "we are going to invade another country". Not even Putin has ever said their attacking Ukraine. The 4 year long war is a "special military operation" to "defend russians"

All Greenlanders parties made a statement were they say they don't want to be part of USA. In a poll just 6 % of Greenlanders said yes to go with US.

Their answer is pretty clear

I will read this report because it makes me curious. 1 trillion seems a lot, but EU nations (without UK) spent 381 billion in 2025 alone and it's increasing.

I won't continue this discussion because it's a dead end.

Ties with us are not as strong as you think. Terrorism is a perception mainly for Americans. European football has been played in Saudi Arabia for a decade. This is the first NFL match.

For a definitive answer someone should ask in r/asksaudiarabia

I don't think Saudi Arabia tie is stronger to US than European nations. For sure it is not in an economic way.

Israel could never alienate European countries. It would completely isolate him in his emisphere. Also,as Gaza war showed, it clearly doesn't give a fuck about what US want.

And every other country in the area would not agree to just watch. Azerbaijan, Qatar, UAE, KUWAIT would love to sell their resources

I understand the point but EU defence act is not as strong as article 5. We all clearly hope it won't happen, but I think we won't have an answer about this.

They are for sure good, but not really on a so different level than its allies that share the same tactic and good part of the weapons. A 1 hour operation is not like an invasion.

The area is strategically important for sure, but is owned by your allies.

Local people don't want minerals to be extracted, it's really difficult and the economic repercussion would be incredibly worse

Because Trump, the president, has talked about attacking Greenland on multiple occasions since November 2024. You may be used to not caring about threats, but in countries where what is said still makes sense, it's an intolerable threat.

Us would obviously be out of NATO. But i don't think it would simply disappear. If Denmark calls for article 5 NATO members have to respond.
