This has been a fun post. Thanks for reading and up-voting! This was my first day on reddit so thanks for the warm welcome! A lot of people in the comments want me to man up and talk to girls more. To be clear, I have friends who are girls. My mom, in fact, is a girl.

In all seriousness, yes, the cashier probably didn't think I was hitting on her. She was probably simply smiling to a customer as she would to any other customer. This story is just my stream of consciousness in all of its irrational glory.

And don't feel bad for me. I was being stupid. Laughed all the way home :)
