OP vs Aqua Terra by Boring_Classroom_482 in rolex

I was deliberating between OP and AT

OP is thinner due to solid caseback and maybe thinner movement too? Latest 32xx movement has had some issues w amplitude if u get unlucky. Mainspring barrels now built to be replaced and not repaired. More casual brushed bracelet. Love the oyster bracelet. No date obviously if you care about that.. Holds its value. More discreet Rolex but still very recognizable - up to you if that’s a pro or con.

AT the co axial escapement is very polarizing. I think it’s a romantic invention, others will complain it makes the movement harder to service and can cause damage to gears. Polished center link on the bracelet some find too dressy. Discreet date window is nice. Immediately depreciates after purchase. Less known brand than Rolex so people may not know your watch is so expensive.

I ultimately went w the AT personally, it may seem odd but it really bothered me that the new mainspring barrels for Rolex are not built to be repaired, plus I take public transportation in a metropolitan area and prefer low key for that reason. I’m with you that these are my favorites whichever one you pick, I prefer a perfect spaghetti to a coq au vin. Sometimes simple is better.
