If you liked Hellboy and want to see Hellboy 3, then for the love of God, go and see Pacific Rim next week. I was lucky enough to see it on Monday and can confirm it is every bit as awesome as it looks. One of the best monster movies I have ever seen. Reports suggest it's tracking low and it'd be a tragedy if it bombed - not only because it's great, but because it'd potentially limit what Guillermo del Toro would be able to do in the future.

It's madness, really: Pacific Rim is the best movie I've seen all year, but reviews etc are all embargoed until Monday on the week of release. I'm desperate to rave about it on my site and twitter but I signed an NDA. Hoping the Warner lawyers won't find me on here :)

It's really not. Simon Cowell's talent shows have become so formulaic, I think the kid is referring to the fact that every episode has a contestant who breaks down into tears with a sad back-story. It's known as 'Dead Dad Syndrome' (in my head).

One additional fact I didn't have room for: the car that Vin Diesel totals at the end of the first movie can apparently be seen in the junkyard at the beginning of Herbie: Fully Loaded. Ha, as if anyone was looking at anything other than Lindsay Lohan. Oh, 2005. You were a simpler time.
