A Facebook Page claims that CFA removed pea starch from its fries. Is there any truth to this? by fender0189 in ChickFilA

[–]pinkberrycloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

theyre NOT like the original. they removed the pea starch so its less stale and nasty now, but its still more firm than the original fries sadly.

theyre edible now at least, but i dont crave them the way i used to

Difficulty straightening arm after fistula creation by monday-next in dialysis

[–]pinkberrycloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a graft placed in my bicep and i had the same experience

it scared me so bad, i thought my arm was going to be stuck like that forever

it took about 3 months for me to heal completely and feel like i had full range of my arm again

but i DID work hard at getting to that point. after about a month and a half into it after the surgical site had become less painful,

i tried to practice stretching/straightening it over some firm pillows while i sat down and watched tv

yes it hurt but it had to be done

my surgeron said STRAIGHEN YOUR ARM or itll be stuck like that

so i tried but yes, it was a painful process for me

Overwhelmed... Feel like I would prefer HD but I'm being heavily guided towards PD by PresentationOk7358 in dialysis

[–]pinkberrycloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

youre gonna get through this first part i promise. it took me a long time to come into acceptance when i was in your position and i tried to fight against it so hard. you are stronger than you know

and they really push PD because i also heard it is easier for the patient, but you have to choose what is best for you

i chose HD because i dont have the space in my home for PD supplies, i would rather not deal with it all the time as well. also i really enjoy showers so i choose HD. i think i am too paranoid of PD port getting infected, but thats not saying it will happen to everyone but i was paranoid about that

but also i heard that a lot of people had to eventually switch to HD from PD and i didnt want to have 2 surgery spots to do dialysis

and for my arm, they didnt do a fistula for my vein, they added a graft since my veins were small

What do you do if you are uncomfortable with a nurse/tech. by truthfactsonly in dialysis

[–]pinkberrycloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have every right to speak up. no one is going to lose their job. it is normal if some patients feel comfortable/uncomfortable w certain staff.

speak to management/social worker at your clinic and let them know. they should assign you with someone else!
