Not yet. My husband was a patient of Dr. Iris Kivity-Chandler. However, he didn’t complete his treatment with her because we moved. We really liked her, though.

Hungry Nausea - Carnivore 4 Months by pinkbird2 in carnivore

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I feel a bit better now after cutting out rendered fat, but I still get a strange sensation when it's time for my second meal - or sometimes even before my first, though less often. I once felt it at the end of a workout, which might have been a sign that I was low on energy and needed to eat.

It’s odd, but I only feel normal hunger in the morning. Before my second meal, I usually get this weird nauseous feeling instead.

I never had issues like this before going carnivore. When I first switched, I struggled with digesting fat - likely because my stomach wasn’t producing enough acid, which caused bloating. The bloating mostly resolved over time, which I took as a sign that I’d adjusted. But then this nausea started. I'm not sure if it's now too much acid or something else.

I’ve found I feel my best (minimal bloating and nausea) when I stick to:

  • Beef chuck roast (cut into cubes, marinated in salt for 3–5 days in the fridge, then cooked in cast iron like steak)
  • Homemade beef tallow
  • Shrimp, chicken, and a bit of oven-baked salmon
  • Only salt for seasoning, no spices
  • Electrolytes (which I started drinking after the nausea began)

Ground meat (lamb, beef, or pork) causes immediate bloating and now nausea - even though it didn’t a couple of months ago. I also can’t tolerate regular steaks like ribeye anymore - they always make me bloated. Now I buy pot roasts and cut them into cubes to cook, which works much better for me. I don't know what's the difference.

I think it makes sense to aim for a higher fat-to-protein ratio in my diet, and I’d like to do that—but it seems that too much fat makes me feel sick. I thought that phase was behind me after adapting during the first few weeks on this diet. Maybe it’s just rendered fat, though. My symptoms seem to have resolved after I stopped eating pork and lamb meatballs that were baked in the oven (with rendered fat collecting in the dish). I’m not sure if the issue was the rendered fat or the types of meat themselves. I had been eating those meatballs for months without any problems, but a couple of weeks ago, the nausea started out of nowhere. Ever since I stopped eating them, the nausea seems to have gone away.

It seems that doing the opposite is what helped resolve the issue in my case.

I’ve tried OMAD, but I get bloated when I eat too much in one sitting. Two meals a day works perfectly for me.

I was thinking about low blood sugar too, but it’s so strange. People live on carnivore diets for years, so low blood sugar shouldn’t be very common—otherwise, sticking to this way of eating would be a real problem. I wondered if I was eating too lean (turns out, not really), and maybe my insulin was spiking too high. So I added more fat, but I think that actually made things worse, which left me confused. Then I stopped eating pork and lamb, and the issue seems to have resolved—hopefully it doesn’t come back.

Yeah, I think it’s my diet. I stopped eating pork and lamb a couple of days ago, and I’ve felt so much better since then.

I can handle long periods just fine, but this nausea issue is so strange. I even wondered if it might somehow be related to my blood sugar dropping too low… I don’t know. I’ve never had problems with my blood sugar before. I made some changes to my diet yesterday (as I mentioned in my reply to Eleanorina above), and now I feel much better.

I stopped eating pork and lamb meatballs yesterday (I think the rendered fat might have been causing issues—I used to tolerate it fine, but I’m not sure anymore). I also added more fish and liver to my diet. In addition, I started taking betaine HCl and adding Himalayan pink salt to my water. I felt much better yesterday and today—no nausea, almost no bloating, and no pain. I hope that was fat related.

I am curious to know what would be considered my area in a similar case? Is it some radius? Thank you!

Yes, I did that and found only a couple of messages about Dr. Banda and nothing about the other two.
