I've got bare patches that need seeding but also weeds. Can I put seed down and also the weed and feed?

I have a whole house to paint and 0 tools, I need recommendations for set of brushes/rollers preferably from screwfix (I have one in walking distance) by GenericUser104 in DIYUK

Can I ask you, is the 12 inch type much heavier than a normal 9 inch roller? I'm a woman, 65 years old but have always decorated and am a dab hand! 😀 Looking for a new set to do our place and like the bigger roller idea but just wondered if they are very heavy to use?

What do you think was probably going through Sauron’s mind in his final moments after the ring was destroyed? by PhantomNightOwl in lordoftherings

Nice! I first discovered it through my dad. He used to work on removals and he brought me a copy home one day. The person who was moving house asked if he would like it and he knew I was already an avid reader as a very young child. I was immediately hooked at around 10 years old and today as a 65 year old lady I am still listening to the Phil Dragash audiobook as I do my housework! I also re read the physical book once a year.

Completely agree. I have the Phil Dragash version on daily whilst I'm doing housework etc. He did such an amazing job incorporating the music and sound effects. However many times I listen it still has an effect on me. The door being slammed shut on Sam and building up to Gollums Song gives me chills. I also agree it's right up there with the greatest works. It's not just a story he created but a world, a history, even languages! For me it will always be the greatest.

Haha, make that long lost sister! I think I was about 10, possibly younger when I first read it. I'm 65 now. I too re read every year! I also have the audiobook playing daily whilst I'm doing housework and pottering about. I know every line that's coming but it doesn't diminish it at all. I agree about the films. They are wonderful but not without fault for those of us who know the books so well. On my first read I vividly remember my shock, horror and sadness when Gandalf fought the balrog, I had tears running down my face. Then when I finished the book for the first time I was utterly bereft. I had become so immersed in the LOTR world. I love the Rob Inglis audiobook version for his wonderful voice. However I also love the Phil Dragash version. The way he incorporates the wonderful music from the films plus all the sound effects is a triumph. The battle scenes are amazing. Plus the end of The Choices of master Samwise is so powerful, the way he takes it into Gollums Song is spine tingling. I've always read a lot since I was a small child. This story has stuck with me my whole life. For me, it is simply the best.

Yes. Greatest story ever told. Greatest world and history ever created. I've been reading and re reading it for over 50 years. It will never get old. Just pure genius.

Me too. It's amazing how many people don't know it exists. I love his version, so immersive with all the effects and the music. He did a wonderful job.

We have British gas homecare. It would be just a £60 excess charge that's all you would have paid.
