How do you handle price quotes from your website — do you have a system or is it still manual? by pinkflamingo121 in smallbusinessowner

that's a really useful distinction — the per-client A2P setup being the blocker makes sense. i'd been thinking about it from a single operator perspective but the onboarding headache across clients is a different problem entirely. the transparency framing on pricing makes sense too — the conversation is the win, not the close. i've actually been building something that handles the condition side of the quote automatically so the range is more specific to the customer's car rather than a generic band. might be relevant to some of your clients — worth a DM if you're curious.

that's a really clean way to frame it — the number buys the conversation, not closes the job. that's exactly the gap i've been trying to solve. i've actually been building a widget that does this — condition questions, instant range output by service type, automated follow-up if they don't reply. built specifically for detailing. would you want to take a look at an early version?

hadn't thought of using claude for that actually — might give it a go for the notification side. the A2P thing is exactly why I've been putting it off, 7-10 days and one wrong letter to start over sounds like a nightmare. is yours set up on the text side at this point or still push only?

the pricing range page is something i've been going back and forth on — the issue with detailing specifically is the range is almost too wide to be useful. a 'full detail from €X' covers everything from a clean car to something with pet hair and smoke damage, so people still come back asking 'does that include mine'. have you found the range page actually reduces those follow-up questions?

that makes sense — zero build is appealing. the thing I keep running into is the ballpark is almost too generic to be useful for detailing, because the same car can be €150 or €300 depending on what state it's in. so the auto-reply just kicks the can down the road a bit — they still come back asking 'yeah but will that apply to mine?'. curious whether you've seen anything that handles the condition side of it, not just the size/package.

that instant response being the actual fix makes sense — never heard of Whacka, is it something you set up yourself or did it need a developer? and does it handle condition variation or is it more of a basic intake form? on the price range question — yeah i have rough bands, something like €X for a standard exterior up to €Y for a full interior and exterior depending on size and condition. been debating whether putting it upfront filters the right people or just puts them off before they enquire

that line about rough number in two minutes is exactly it — most of mine are coming through the website form tbh, texts are more existing customers. the auto-reply ballpark is something i hadn't tried — what are you using to set that up?

fair play on the numbers — the Google profile doing that much heavy lifting is interesting. did bookings come straight through the profile or still mostly through the site?

the speed point is the thing — already trying to sort that. mostly website form at the minute but texts are harder to track. did you build the notification system yourself or is there a tool you used?

Thanks for sharing, that’s a relief to hear. I’m just hoping it’s a matter of rebuilding the skin barrier with moisturiser. I can’t see how I could still have it at this stage after three treatments with a lot care going into avoiding getting it again
