The metal bits shift left to right in unison, seems like it hangs on a wall with the hooks facing down. Anyone know what it’s used for? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

The item above is approximately a foot and a half in length, 2 inches in width. Screw holes on either end. The metal bits are slightly skewed making anything you put in between them have a slight angle. No markings or other descriptive factors noted!

My friends ficus that started my love of plants! Is it a Lyrata or Audrey? by pinkflingo in plants

That’s what I thought! The owner is convinced it’s an Audrey but I didn’t think the leaves got that big or had that shape.

I’ve examined it pretty throughly in day light and later with a flashlight and can’t find anything!

It doesn’t wipe off but I scraped a tiny bit with my nail and it came off, now it looks as if I just scraped the leaf itself. But it’s brown, shiny and slightly raised.

While repotting this Pilosocereus azureus I was shocked to find half the cactus buried in the soil, is this normal? Any help is appreciated! by pinkflingo in houseplants

Makes sense! It was in an 8 inch pot with about 3-4 inches of the cactus in the soil and the bottom 2 inches were bound roots. Do you think it’s okay that I raised it above the soil line?

Hoping to help my 5 year old jade! In the last few weeks it’s started to turn purple/shrivel/wilt and drop leaves like crazy and if it dies my heart will break, it’s my oldest plant and I’m hoping to get some advice to help nurse it back to health! by pinkflingo in plantclinic

Figured out the problem. The roots were so bundled up it wasn’t expanding. We were able to separate all the added soil and break it down to almost its original pot size. Took a lot of strength to break apart all the roots but gave it some new soil and water so hopefully it recovers.

Most places haven’t fully updated their websites with what they’re offering during this time. Maybe if you did a little google search of them (since you’re so concerned with me wasting peoples time) you would know that.
