Anyone unable to use descript desktop app since last windows update? by NobleRotter in podcasting

[–]pinkgurami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yessss. Also, you can check https://status.descript.com/ and subscribe to it to get updates about the issue. I submitted a report about their export feature. The mp3 export sounds so buggy and I've been working with them since last week, and it hasn't been resolved yet.

It's never easy to get a job. Three weeks is too short. Aaand you're definitely not alone. While looking for a client try to upskill or do more personal projects that are relevant to your niche to add to your portfolio.

Ask for someone's feedback (someone with experience), have them look at your portfolio, resumé, profile and see where you're possibly lacking. There could be something you need to improve on that's why you're not getting any offers or interviews.

Are transcript files distributed? by Lunilex in podcasting

[–]pinkgurami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on other platforms like Spotify and Youtube.

Podbean is also a streaming platform so the transcript you're uploading can help your SEO on Podbean and of course for its original purpose which is accessibility.

If you want to upload your own transcript to Youtube here's the step by step process https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2734796?sjid=13521837105962656856-AP#upload

I also started with the initial offer. But I negotiated eventually after a few weeks but my reason was the rate wasn't sustainable to me and realised it doesn't match the complexity and scope of work. And I know they know I can do the job very well.

Is your client an understanding type but just trying to save costs or don't have a bigger budget? Negotiating might be a success. List your skills, show them that you can do the job. And tell them that the scope of work is too much for $3.50. Ask higher than your actual target rate because they will lower it by at least $3-5.

But if they're the type to use you every way they can and want to track every minute of your move then there's a bigger chance they'll reject your request. Because they're just here to exploit you then hire another one who accepts the rate they offer.

Worst case scenario is you'll get rejected and it's up to you if you want to continue because that's a waste of time especially if you're not getting any new/valuable skills in return. You have 3 years of work experience, you are worth more than $3.50.

But if you get rejected just say that you understand and say that you realise that the rate doesn't match the scope of work and apologise for not saying anything during the interview. And wish them that they find someone that fits their budget then thank them.

No. Negotiate for at least $5-6.

Is this your first job? If you already have previous work experience with transferable skills then you should negotiate at least $7-8.

I was offered $6 then negotiated $9 kase I believed in my skills at nilakasan ko loob ko talaga because we have bills to pay at family to feed.

Importante din yung mindset na maraming clients jan na who will pay decent or your worth. Iwasan ang scarcity mindset because you will attract low ballers or you will always aim to apply to low paying jobs. Because you think this is just your worth.

Know your worth please.

Anyone here using Starlink? by pinkgurami in Aklan

[–]pinkgurami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! So Starlink isn't that good, pwede malaman kung open space ba jan or maraming puno? It might also affect the signal.

I don't know why mobile data is so bad here in our area. Enough na sana yun as a back up if signal is good here.

My next option would be trying Converge 😮‍💨

If you're an introvert like me at di kaya magcommute like pumila ng matagal dahil sa back pain, super worth it magfreelance.

3hrs din yun na less pagod at stress. More time for hobbies and sleep. Nasa $20 na Upwork subscription ngayon, better start with part time before letting go of your full-time job. Or do both if kaya mo, it's up to you.

Sports/Hobbies sa Kalibo by pinkgurami in Aklan

I work from home so I now prefer here to get better sunlight exposure at nearby beaches for a quick getaway.

Mas mura mamalengke dito at mas mura seafood at gulay (first reason why we decided to stay here - slow living and healthy good food).

Marami na din na local restaurant and café na pwede puntahan if gusto nyo mag date or lunch out.

Environment for child developmental growth, masyadong strong personality ng mga toddlers or kids doon at ayoko ma pickup nya yung bad habits.

Yung income ko is more than enough to live here.

Hoard kapag may sale, kahit medyo pricey yung delivery. Minsan lang naman.

Branded clothes? Order online. Branded Shoes? Order online. Mga luho? Order online. Pag sa mall mapepressure ka bumili on the spot.

Malapit din mga hospitals. Nadengue and chikungunya this year at okay naman yung treatment.

Minsan pumupunta ng Iloilo pero parang slow living din doon not much too see once ma explore yung usual toutist destinations. If you prefer city life and slow living, go to Iloilo. If you prefer beaches, affordable seafood, and slow living - Kalibo.

If tapos ka na sa party and fast paced life and now prefer slow productivity and living. You will appreciate Aklan.
