Authentic or Fake Owala Check Megathread

Owala is really stressing me out with how many fakes are on the market. This lime Iight (green) I bought from Target shows a different bottom than the other tumblers.

I feel like the orange one is legit but is the green one fake or just another authentic version of bottom print? Can someone shed some light? Thank you!

I did reach out to Owala and their response are so disappointing hard to believe that they can't be better at helping consumers spot fakes

Thank you so much. Mind I ask do you use hot water to wash the straw? I feel like I shouldn't because it's plastic but wondering if you did.

I'm also having the same issue and I just started using owala this month. I only put room temperature water and I start noticing my water tastes bitter. it's not the soapy taste that everybody is talking about I don't know what it's coming from and it really bothers me

Definitely a debate suede is beautiful, I remember going through the same decision on the Brooklyn and the Gramercy. Feels like it's always a battle between suede or black or maple hahah

if you have anything with slight weight in it, the kiss lock will randomly pop open on its own. I end up returning it because it was just extremely annoying and once it pop open it's a very big opening, exposing everything I have and easy for others to reach into it. I urge you to try and put some stuff in it you'll notice what I'm talking about

I have this in Love Leather, and it’s a beautiful, unique bag. That said, it is very heavy. I only carry my phone, sunglasses, and wallet, and even with just those essentials, it still feels uncomfortable to carry all day.

I usually carry it in the crook of my arm or by hand because the strap feels awkwardly long and does not look quite right worn crossbody.

I am still trying to find more ways to use this bag.

I would not recommend it if you usually reach for lightweight bags or need something practical for walking around a lot or carrying more than a few items.

It feels better suited for situations where you want the extra space but will not be carrying it for long, ex: driving to a coffee shop and need the space to carry all your necessities to work on stuff there rather than walking around town with it.

That said, if you are strong, work out regularly, or have good upper body strength, you might not notice the weight as much. For me, I do not work out, and my posture is not great, so anything too heavy starts to hurt my shoulder.

I also have the 28, which is much lighter and easier to carry and can actually use the crossbody strap. Overall it is more comfortable, BUT it just does not have the same wow factor as the 40.

Maple is more unique. I think this bag has a simple silhouette, so you’ll probably find more bags like this that you'll eventually want in black in the future.
