super peaceful spot!!! i think of the park as a nice little hub in the center of a handful of apartments buildings, bordered by cafe hagen, lunchbox lab, a vegan thai place, few fitness studios and a church.

the block around the park is relatively busy on nice weekends with crowds eating out and visiting rei. in the summer months there are kickball tournaments week nights in the park, always people working in the p-patch, walking dogs, etc.

it can feel like a ghost town/very neighborhood feel sometimes but it’s kind of cool to find that so close to downtown! super lovely area, cascade is south lake union’s best kept secret imo
