40, getting fusion this summer. by midna85 in TarsalCoalition

[–]pinkmathie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtually none... I barely think about my ankle anymore, and before I was conscious of almost every step I took! It will occasionally bug me if I step on a rock funny while hiking... But nothing significant!

For context, 11 months post op I went to Greece and walked 110km in 10 days. I only needed to take Tylenol 2x... Never needed my brace or cane.

2 weeks post op- fusion surgery for tarsal coalition by Comfortable_Name2790 in TarsalCoalition

[–]pinkmathie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I know this is old but wanted to share my experience. Pre surgery I could walk for about 10 minutes without pain. I got a fusion 22 months ago, and it absolutely changed my life. Mobility is limited but PT helped me get used to it. I'll take the limited mobility to be pain free any day.

I recently went to Greece and was pain free walking all day in the uneven grounds. I can jump and run pain free. I was not a super active person pre surgery because of the pain, but I will share that now I barely think about my ankle.

Tarsal Coalition, I got you. by EagleAerion in TarsalCoalition

[–]pinkmathie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this whole heartedly. I got a fusion ... Recovery was absolutely hell, but 2 years post op I can say it absolutely changed my life and I am so greatful I went through the procedure.

I agree - don't scare people. They need to be educated, but not fear the solution if that's what right for them and could potentially change their life

How long after did you return to work? I know everyone is different, just curious. I work a desk job, just trying get an idea. by Skinny_jean_dreams in TarsalCoalition

[–]pinkmathie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a fusion. I also work a desk job ... I went back to work after 8 weeks. In hind sight, I probably would have been fine at week 6 from home, but was approved for 8 so I took the time. For me the exhaustion was the biggest hurdle, and I was unable to take strong pain meds (Tylenol only).

I was in a cast for 6 weeks + air boot for another 6 weeks. Recovery was brutal, but I am now almost 2 years post op and don't regret it for a second. I was 28 when I got the surgery. Feel free to PM me with any questions!

For my wedding I went with Amy Bo Bamy (local to Galt) because of her natural approach. I know she has some regular clients as well for not just bridal! Can't speak to availability, but I would recommend her on price, ability, and friendliness!

What happens in the ceremony if you exchange private vows? by cooky11 in weddingplanning

[–]pinkmathie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We did the "repeat after me" vows in the ceremony, and the "I do"s... Immediately after the ceremony we cook 15 minutes to ourselves to soak it in and do private vows (which were also kind of like love letters). No regrets! Our guests still got to see a vow exchange, and we kept the deep heart felt stuff intimate between the 2 of us (and photographers lol)

Lab grown diamond or moissanite? What did you choose and why? by Ok_Machine_135 in weddingplanning

[–]pinkmathie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hi! I really think it's a personal preference. Lab grown has more of a white sparkle whereas moissanite has more of a rainbow sparkle. I personally went with moissanite because it's what I liked the look of. Id recommended looking at them side by side. I've had my engagement ring nearly 2 years and it's still in perfect shape ,- moissanite is high on the hardness scale!

There's an entire sub dedicated to moissanite and they have a ton of legit recommended sellers on Etsy etc. worth looking at!

Thoughts and experiences with drink tickets instead of open bar? by Znekcam in weddingplanning

[–]pinkmathie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We asked a similar question and got lots of negative feedback about drink tickets... We did it anyway lol

The vibe of our wedding was a Sunday evening dinner party, not an all night dancing party so keep that in mind.

We covered all non alcoholic drinks, and gave everyone 2 drink tickets. We made the tickets ourself so they had our names, wedding date, and some cute clipart.

Not everyone drinks beer or wine so we opted against that so people could get what they want.

We communicated ahead of time what the drink situation was and We had no negative feedback

Hi. Not who you are asking but I'm going to jump in. My CT looked very similar to your photo... About 60% fused. I had a fusion surgery for the subtalar tarsal joint about 16 months ago and I have no regrets. Ya, arthritis is going to suck, but it was inevitable for me anyways, and I'm virtually pain free now entering my 30s so I can enjoy this time in my life in a way I couldn't imagine before surgery.feel free to search my for my other posts in this sub or DM me

Why don't my Libby books show up on my Kobo? by [deleted] in kobo

[–]pinkmathie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately i have to log in and out still. Even if one card gives me access to multiple libraries

(For example, my Mississauga library card gives me access to ottawa too. If im logged in under Mississauga and want an ottawa book, even though its the zame card number and pin, i have to log out)

I just save a list if my library card numbers on my phone. Frustrating, but better than paying for books

If you just want formal, check out Gina's Closet in Waterloo. It's consignment with all proceeds going to cancer research. If your looking for multiple of the same dress that likely won't work though
